Default Villa fan killed after Brum Derby

Man dies following football derby

Police have sealed off an area in Birmingham

A man, believed to be a football fan, has died after being hit by a car in the Aston area of Birmingham.
The collision happened after Sunday's Premier League match between Aston Villa and Birmingham City at Villa Park, which the home side won 5-1.
Police said the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries during the incident in Aston Hall Road at 1500 BST. Officers were at the scene and the area was taped off. It is not yet clear if rival supporters were involved. The vehicle involved was a Volkswagen Golf and police said they were appealing for witnesses.

21 year old Villa fan ran over by Birmingham lads apparantly, how bad is that?

Sad news, but looks like speculation, no real evidence it was football related?

If it's true then it's sad.

But if "If the Villa lot" want to stir up trouble for future matches then it's the perfect thing for them to say. When a rumour goes round then allsorts of violence can happen.Didn't an Italian team start something on the lines of this over there.

If down to football the dark ages derby lives up to its billing. Shocking stuff.

I mocked a fella I worked with (a Spurs fan) for tacking days off work when Arsenal beat them. Footy should just be a bit of banter and crack, nothing more nothing less. To go to the lengths of taking time off work when your team loses is a bit extreme. To go to the lengths to kill over it is just fcuking obscene.

Think it was during a Roma Lazio derby and their was a rumour a Lazio fan had been killed before the game, the Ultras appealed to Totti to suspend the game and it was suspended. That turned out to be a rumour but unfortunately this isn't.

RIP young man

You are correct, I have just watched central news and 2 men arrested as above and a 3rd helping with enquiries,it also appears they were Villa fans as well.

So not club against club, buit nevertheless a senseless waste of a young life.

May the young lad
RIP

Man in court over Aston Villa fan's death

Jul 3 2008 By Ross McCarthy

A MAN appeared in court today charged with murder following the death of an Aston Villa fan after a Second City derby.
Lee Mockble, 20, of Robin Hood Lane, Hall Green, is accused of the murder of Christopher Priest, who was hit by a car on April 20.
During a brief hearing at Birmingham Magistrates Court, Mockble, dressed in a grey zipped-up top, jeans and trainers, spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.
The public gallery was full of friends and relatives of both Mr Priest and the defendant, some of whom banged on the reinforced glass of the secure dock as Mockble was led back down to the cells.
The court clerk read out the charge which alleged that Mockble had murdered Christopher Priest on April 20 in Aston.
Deputy District Judge Gwyn Jones said the case could only be dealt with at the Crown Court and remanded Mockble in custody to appear there on July 10 for a preliminary hearing.
Mr Priest, 26, from George Road, Sutton Coldfield, was allegedly struck by a VW Golf on Aston Hall Road in Aston just hours after watching his team beat Birmingham City 5-1 at Villa Park.
Paramedics and police rushed to the scene but Mr Priest died in hospital from his injuries.
It had previously been stated by lawyers in the case that it was not believed the incident was connected with rivalries between Aston Villa and Birmingham City fans.
Ian Vesey, solicitor for Mockble, made no application for bail.
