Default Tottenham v Chelsea - Carling Cup Final

Getting excited now as the game approaches.

I see Chelsea are talking about resting Lampard and Terry ahead of the match. Big move by Grant if it happens leaving those two out of abig CL game.

I expect Tottenham to do the same on Thursday, shame we didn't win more emphatically (as we should have done) to enable more first teamers to be left out.

I expect we'll play to beat Slavia in the first half and then if all goes to plan will rest a few players in the second half. I can expect that we wont have a full on team for Thursday's match but instead a team Ramos considers strong enough to get the right result.

I'm looking forward to the game on Sunday but a bit wary due to the underdog status. I really think we can get a result but will be hard if Chelsea have their full squad available. All we need do is look at our last fixture v Chelsea and the way that we looked totally disjointed and lost 2-0 to show that we're still not 100% over this Chelsea jinx. However, hopefully with the final we can nail a coffin in it, achieve UEFA Cup football and a win in Wembley!! Can only hope!

Yes, a mate of mine who's got 4 season tickets has come up with a ticket for me. I was hoping he'd offer as we go to a lot of games together, but the demand is like nothing I've known before and I knew he'd have a lot of people after one.

What about yourself?

I've got a feeling about this one. Nothing rational as yet but I really fancy spurs to take it.

Good feeling. Huge day for us, we are the outsiders but have been playing really well of late and have such attacking power that even a Scrooge like team like Chelsea should be worried. We need to get into Europe some how and this and the UEFA is our best opportunity. Also it is about time we won something really, since I have been born we have only won two things and only one of them I can remember and for a club who boasts such proud tradition that is not good enough. for the result and he does not play Zokora. I know in a one off game a rubbish player like him can make himself a legend with a performance of miracle like proportions but with him I just cant see any miracle happening.

How different is it for Londoners going to Wembley for a cup final, do you you still get the same buzz?

One of the best parts of the wembley trips for me was the train/coach journey down getting tanked up with all your mates, seeing what morons had decorated the motorway in blue and white on the way down and the service stations with thousands of you singing.....

Not having that for a while mind....

Onto the game.....I'm with PaulM here. Chelsea dont look comfortable at the minute at all and I think Spurs can win this game, I think it will be boring, I can see extra time and maybe even penalties. The big players will have to turn up for Spurs though no doubt about that, Spurs preparation for this match will be absolutely top notch, look at Ramos's cup final record at Sevilla.....2 UEFA cup wins in 2 finals and a european super cup win and a copa del rey(think they have beaten Barcelona in 2 out of 2 finals as well)

Definately the same buzz. For me there's nothing like going to Wembley. The last final for us was in in Cardiff against Blackurn (lucky bastards and Graham c*nting poll) and although it's a cracking stadium it's not Wembley. I was there in 81, 82 (twice), 91, 97 & 99 and looking forward to this one just as much. I fancy our chances as well.

Looking forward to being the first North London side to grace the new stadium

Just remembered that load of blokes dressed as clowns on the tube on challenge cup day, all looked to be having a good time except one who was sat by himself with a face like a smacked arse

That's what your Wembley day out is all about isn't it?

I wont enjoy it but i'll be backing Spurs, I think they are the value and Chelsea, despite their results being good, havent looked 100% for a few weeks.

Good news Poppy, glad you've got yourself sorted.

I had virtually given up hope as last week I emailed Spurs after a few saying that I'd just missed out by two points and it was through no fault of my own due to a change in the Prague game changing dates. They said they'd put me on a list for any tickets returned. I hadn't heard anything but they rang me this afternoon at work saying that they could offer me a ticket if I was still interested So yes I'm going, can't wait. My first Tottenham final and first trip to the new Wembley. Last biggest game I went to was the Semi up at Old Trafford.

yeah mate delighted. Seen a few stories about tickets going missing this week in the post depsite being sent special delivery so I won't sleep easy until it' sin my hand

Chelsea are a quality team but I think we'll go out with positive attitude. What have we got to lose? Just waching Poyet as a pundit on Sky for the CL and he was excitable as usual. Shame we can't rest a few against Prague on Thursday but never mind. Looking forward to the experience

Been up since 7 as it was my turn to get up with the nippers, I've made good use of the time as they are now practically word perfect with the main tunes on the Tottenham greatest hits cd.

Off now for a couple of pints locally and then meeting in Wembley at 12 before putting Chelsea to the sword

Really wish I was there! Instead waiting on mate turning up and wow, he's taking his time! Really want to get there and see the game, doubt pub will be full on the Isle of Wight but still! Just want to take up a good view and see us, hopefully, to glory!!

Well done Spurs

Thought the best team won, Spurs tried to take the game to Chelsea throughout and Chelsea seemed to struggle with that.
