surley shes done more for tennis than anyone?
shame they have combined 2 sports.

surley if they are looking the greastes sporting legend then each sport should have its own spotlight?

It like if they had football and boxing in the same week ALI/PELE but one would be eliminated.

Missed it last night again

Anyone watch Sunday's show? I didn't.

Martina Navratilova won the tennis legend vote and Jack Nicklaus won the golf legend vote.

13/2?! I hope you put some money on that, Herp.

This week's odds from Skybet:

Horse racing legend

Lester Piggott 2/5
Vincent O'Brien 5/1
Tony McCoy 6/1
John Francome 12/1
Sir Gordon Richards 14/1
Fred Archer 50/1

Motor racing legend

Ayrton Senna 1/2
Michael Schumacher 2/1
Sir Stirling Moss 11/2
Nigel Mansell 14/1
John Surtees 33/1
Mick Doohan 100/1

Yeah that probably looks about right.

having Mick Doohan in with GrandPrix drivers is wrong IMO.

Doohan was the king of GP 500 5times world champ with Honda and if there was a section for Bikes then he would win that hands down.

Slight value in Schumacher but surly the fans fav is Senna.

Yeah the winners were indeed Ayrton Senna and Lester Piggott (with Michael Schumacher in ''second place').

Sunday's show was Olympic legends (whostill watching? Not me). No betting from Skybet (what's the point when you know Steve Redgrave's going to get all the votes?
  • Carl Lewis - Won nine Olympic gold medals in athletics in a record-breaking career.
  • Emil Zatopek - Won the 5k the 10k and the marathon at the 1952 games in Helsinki.
  • Fanny Blankers-Koen - This mother of two won four gold medals at the 1948 games in London.
  • Dawn Fraser - An Australian icon who won eight Olympic and eight Commonwealth medals.
  • Paavo Nurmi - Won nine Olympic gold medals, broke 20 world records in 16 separate events.
  • Steve Redgrave - The first Briton to win a gold medal at five consecutive Olympic Games.
  • Michael Johnson - Holds world records for the 200m, 300m, 400m and 4 x 400 relay.
  • Jesse Owens - His four gold medals at Berlin in 1936 exposed Hitler’s Aryan myths.
  • Olga Korbut - Single handedly revolutionized the appeal of gymnastics.
  • Mark Spitz - Became the first man ever to pick up seven gold in one games.

Last week's winner was Steve Redgrave, 2nd Michael Johnson and in 3rd place, Jesse Owens.

Rugby legend this week and Skybet have put odds up:

Martin Johnson 2/1
Gareth Edwards 2/1
Wally Lewis 6/1
Billy Boston 5/1
Alex Murphy 8/1
Ellery Hanley 12/1
John Eales 20/1
Serge Blanco 20/1
Mike Gibson 40/1
Colin Meads 66/1

Fairly open contest although it probably is between Johnson and Edwards.

Rugby legend: 1st Gareth Edwards, 2nd Martin Johnson, 3rd Ellery Hanley.

Updated odds for cricket legend:

Ian Botham 6/4
Don Bradman 11/4
Viv Richards 6/1
Garfield Sobers 6/1
Brian Lara 8/1
Sachin Tendulkar 12/1
WG Grace 12/1
Imran Khan 33/1
Shane Warne 33/1
Adam Gilchrist 40/1

Well I've put £25 on Ian Botham at 6/4. The Ashes may play a part but it could easily be Don Bradman who wins the vote.

Anyone watching the live final? Me? I could stomach a few minutes of Kirsty Gallacher championing Jack Nicklaus during a break in the darts but that's about it.

Last week's winner was Ian Botham with 2nd, Don Bradman and 3rd, Sachin Tendulkar.

The wild card was Lance Armstrong.

Who'd have thought it? Would have been a surprising skinner if Skybet were offering a 1/3 of the odds for 1/2 with Lance Armstrong available at a huge 66/1!

If I'd have realised a month and a half ago that the Tour de France was on and ended today (frankly, who cares?), I might have stuck a quid or two on!

You can have as many gold medals and titles as you like but you still won't have as much charisma as Muhammed Ali.

It's sporting legend not sporting achievement.
