Default Seve Ballesteros suicide attempt ?

Watching the Scottish open and they were just talking about reports in Spanish press that Seve attempted suicide with an overdose after the death of a close female friend in a car crash and his heart health problems BBC stated his agent has released a statement denying it.

Just having a look around now but nothing on the BBC, anyone else heard anything ?

The Guardian

Seve Ballesteros, the winner of five major championships, has been treated in a Spanish hospital for a heart problem, it emerged last night. The Spaniard, who turned 50 earlier this year, was admitted to a hospital in his home town of Santander on June 17 after complaining of heart palpitations but was discharged the following day.
He underwent tests during which doctors discovered he was suffering from an irregular heartbeat. "It is nothing too serious and he is well enough to travel to next week's Open Championship at Carnoustie," Iván Ballesteros, Seve's nephew, said last night.

The player's family described as "completely untrue" reports in the Spanish media that he had tried to commit suicide after the recent death of a close friend in a car accident. Ballesteros, who is now eligible for the Champions Tour, has struggled with a back injury in recent years and has not tasted victory since the 1995 Spanish Open.

Severiano Ballesteros wants to assure his "friends and admirers" around the world that amid reports of a suicide attempt and a heart scare he is doing "perfectly well".
The 50-year-old Spanish star, who will be at Carnoustie next week even though he has decided not to play in the Open Championship, issued a statement today following further publicity surrounding him.
"Due to increasing rumours centred on me that are being spread out mainly by the tabloid press," said Ballesteros, "I wish to distribute this release to declare and confirm that I am doing perfectly well.
"I have received a great number of telephone calls from friends and admirers from all over the world. I do appreciate their interest and hence feel obliged to send this note in order to ask for respect.
"In the past, falsehood about me was let out and I never answered back because I do not speak about my private life.
"If I do now it is because different twisted statements about my state of health have been circulating.
"Thank you, Severiano Ballesteros."
A Spanish television programme alleged the three-time Open champion had taken an overdose after he was admitted to hospital last month, linking it to the death of a friend in a car crash.
His nephew and manager Ivan Ballesteros denied the story, British newspapers quoting him as saying that the 1997 Ryder Cup captain - who has been through a marriage break-up as well as a complete loss of form -
was found to have an irregular heartbeat in tests, but that it was nothing too serious and he was well enough to travel to Scotland next week.
After a two-year absence with back problems Ballesteros came back and played the Open at Hoylake last year, then announced his intention to compete in the Masters, the Open and on the US Seniors Tour this year.
At Augusta he had rounds of 86 and 80 to be last and in his one and only seniors appearance so far he finished last again.
