I'm not sure if this is meant to piss off Scottish people or Birmingham fans, I suspect it's the former, but the latter would be much more on the mark.

I was never that happy with McLeish as a manager. Sure plenty of Scots will agree.

He was found out with Hibs towards the end, and never impressed at Rangers for me. Got some lucky results, to make it appear better, but the team played dreadful football and Rangers fans were by and large delighted to see him go.

As for Scotland he took the great work that Smith did and carried it on, it was a maint job, nothing more. I was sad to lose Smith, a guy with a great footballing mind, but McLeish ? no biggie. I'm actually rather pleased. This helps our WC chances

Not remotely stressed to lose him, we can and will do a lot better. I have no doubt he'll relegate Birmingham in style.

Souness, I hope to god not, He'd never carry public support in Scotland, the SFA know this and would never appiont.

I'm torn on this one.

If we are looking for champange football and a lot of flair, the obvious pick is Tommy Burns. Wonderful coach, has been part of the setup for years, did great things at Celtic, his team there was a thing of beauty.

I we are looking for dull pragmatic football, with 1-0 wins then I don't think we can go past George Graham.

I'd have Burns in the job this afternoon myself, but would understand a Graham appiontment

Billy Davies looks like he has thrown his name into the ring... I reckon it will be him aswell. He has done some good things at Derby, and was sacked unfairly IMO. I can see him taking on the job.

As for why McLeish left... apparently Birmingham habe QUADRUPLED his salary...

George Graham is a good shout, he'd be the best choice imo.

With Billy Davies you know the same thing is likely to happen, he still wants day to day involvement I'd guess and would prefer a club job.

With Nigel Worthingtons future in a bit of doubt then England, Scotland, Norn Iron and Republic of Ireland jobs could well be up for grabs, and the Welsh are just hoping to join the list

I like what John Collins has done at Hibs right now, maybe he's a long term prospect. Always liked Billy Davies as a manager, I know he rubs some people up the wrong way but he's passionate. Souness is a huge no, can never see the SFA appointing him.

as was stated earlier mcleish inherited a good team from walter smith he told u the reason he left to go back to ibrox security !!!!!!!!! mcleish has done the same thing its the gentlemen of the S.F.A who are to blame for the moves in the past year

as for the next manager forget sooness graham or mcallister there ok sitting in a studio pinpointing everyones mistakes

roy aitken would do a fine job plenty of experience both on & off the field

I'm of the opinion that international management is best suited to men in their late 50's and early 60's.

Young managers should relish the day to day cut and thrust of club management and working with players on a daily basis. The older guy can bring more reflection and deeper thought to the international teams.

Managing your country should be the end of your career, after you're finished in club management. It's the place where you bring all the wisdom you've gathered over decades to bear.

not sure if you're gonna get a top replacement - its quite evident that scotland punched above their weight and with a not so straight forward draw coupled with increased speculation, another berti vogts reign may be upcoming...

Dunno, either I've started being measured and reasonable in my opinions or you've gone crazy.

Let's try a little test.

Sir Alex is a calm and reasonable man that never puts undue pressure on refs, and away teams get plenty of decisions in their favour at OT, including pens.

Are we going for a third agreement ?
