3 cup wins is more than the previous 3 managers had in 7 years!! Dowie has won all 3 this season.

I never expected a win tonight but i know we are more organised than last year & clearly fitter. We are also a bigger side than ever in terms of height & actually have 2 or 3 players who can put thier foot on a ball.

Draw is made on Saturday. Another prem side perhaps.

shamelss after event but you know i do it when i remember, i logged on at 7.35pm to Hills & he was a measly 33's which i thought was poor but didnt have any money in other accts so backed him in there. He scored the other week as well in the cup game when i was away on hols. He also got 1 vs Soton (not 1st goal). he normally hits 6 a season so will continue to back him for that 1st goal. He is playing really well, got MoM last night.

Top man, missed up at Valley Parade and I was hoping you'd backed him when I saw he had scored the winner.

fans are losing patience with the management

4-5-1 again tonight, swansea lose thier keeper after 30 mins & replace with a centre half

stats below - how one sided can you get, we managed 1 shot in the 90th minute, i feel Dowie's days are numbered now.

STAT ATTACK
4Shots On Target
0
8Shots Off Target
1
6Fouls (Conceded)
10
16Corners
1
0Yellow Cards
6
0Red Cards
0

surely, you have to chnage something when you are the lowest scoring team in the top half & away this season have scored 0-0-0-1-1-0

hardly inspiring is it

that was a well earned point in the end tonight. it wasnt a perfect performance but we held reading at thier place 0-0 & had a couple of decent efforts on goal. You can see why we struggle to score away with no cutting edge at all with that formation. the midfield is too busy & not enough players get forward to worry the opposing defence.

apart from the corner count, the rest is pretty even

granted it looked like a pen with that handball by mahon but some you get & some you dont.

ok, just got the call & taking the hot seat for tomorrow's clash vs Birmingham, if succesful, could lead to a million pound contract with the hoops.

Firstly, in the keeper department, Radek played really well on Saturday & i have been well happy with him after a few slip ups early season, he has really solved a problem we had last season.

Then in defence, Damien Delaney got another booking vs Swansea & misses the game, could be costly for the lad as Matt Connolly played with an assurance on Saturday that Delaney cant match. The lad has a future in this game & will go far. Fitz & Stewpeas fill the centre half slots with Connolly available to deputise if required. Onto the right back slot, Legs did well & showed what a strong character he has in stifling the likes of Kevin Doyle & Stephen Hunt on Saturday. I am keeping him there for now.

Into the engine room, Rowly had some tough tackles on Saturday & when on his game is one of the best midfielders in this league. Akos has to be included with that imagination of his pity we cant read it all the time, he is the special one we must have in the side. However i am going to ask him to tuck in just behind the front 2 to give Brum something to think about. Mahon takes the legs role, he is our hard man & we need him in the middle. Parejo still doesnt get it does he, he needs a few more games to show his class, will be benched for this one.

Onto the wing & Cookie just isnt delivering at the moment & its a toss up between him & bringing back Ledesma who after a few games out may have sulked long enough to think about putting in a decent performance, still undecided on that one. Dex must play up fron & i want another striker alongside, Balanta will be ok, he wont last the 90 as he is still learning but we will have options during the game to change it.

Final line up (ish)

GK Cerny
LB Connolly
RB Leigerwood
CH Hall
CH Stewart
MID Rowlands
MID Mahon
MID Buszacky
WING Cookie or Lesdesma
FOR Blackstock
FOR Balanta

Subs
Cole GK, Parejo MID, Ramage DEF, Ledesma (MID), Di Carmine (FOR)

For me its a strong team to see off Brum & we have options all over the park!

Press conference to follow ......

birmingham - you are a fcuking disgrace , lose to 10 men, top of the league!! you're having a laugh!
but come on you get 23000 a week & bring less than 1000 fans thats a fcuking disgrace, i hav always maintained you so called big clubs have poor "real" support & it was proved again tonight.

We took everything you threw at us & i cant believe how poorly you play football if thats what you call it.

Great performance from the boys tonight after Legs got dismissed a minute before half time. The ref was a disgrace throughout & couldnt get decisions right the whole night. However it was settled by a cracking 25 yarder by the italian Di Carmine (one of the players Briatore wanted in the side! Perhaps he does know what he's doing!) Great conditions to play in, freezing sleet for the whole 2nd half, my head feels like an ice block.

nope, seems to be between Mancini, O'Leary & young fergie. Really dont know what we need but the spirit is there as shown again today with another home win over a so called decent championship team, so thats Reading, Brum & Cardiff in the last 4 games & we took 7 points.

What we do need is a bit of focus up front as we dont seem to be able to score more than 1. Our defence is really holding out & Cerny made a great save in the final secs to stop the 9 men getting a point. He has been a star the last few weeks & Stewart had yet another great game today.

The players Briatore wanted in the side all played today but all 3 got subbed.

Looks like Wolves are going to be the team to beat this year so cant wait to play them this season.

1-0 away at Man Utd, not too shabby although with 10 behind the ball all game, eventually a penalty settled it & then we forced a couple of chances.

Come on Flavio put your money where your mouth is & get a striker in soooon!! 2 goals away in 8 league games is madness & no goal scored away now for nearly 600 mins!! It aint rocket science!

Not long to wait now mucker, we come to your manor on december 6th.

I think you may have to score more than once to beat us if we keep our front men fit. We've scored 2 or more goals in every game this season except 2, 3-0 home defeat to Reading (Iwelumo suspended), and a 3-1 loss at Swansea (Iwelumo suspended, Ebanks-Blake, Jarvis and Kightly all injured).
Jarvis not likely to be back from his hamstring injury until nearer xmas, but the others are flying at the moment. Also got Mancienne on loan and he's different class, as you probably already know, having had him yourselves last season.
Its a testing little period for us coming up soon, Sheff u away, Brum home, QPR away. It would nice to still be top after that little run .
