he couldnt get in Birminghams team & no one else has come in for him, so i assume the answer to that is no.

No idea on the Argie but Fitz Hall seems a pretty solid signing at this level. Very good centre back.

Holloway has finally stopped talking bollocks for one minute today to sign us a player

Well, i wasnt expecting much from yesterdays game but only losing 1-0 (own goal) to the so called best team in this country, it wasnt too bad.

The place is like a morgue, they didnt respond much to the 6500 r's fans who packed the Shed end for the day.

Songs like "weve got more money than you" rang out for the whole 90 mins along with the standard "where were you when you were shit"

Considering we were missing Leigerwood through suspension, Busacky limped off after 50 mins & Vine (still not signed yet) then we put up a fairly decent effort limiting Chelsea to passing the ball around with no real end product.

Another chapter in the rise of the club

PS message to Chelsea fans, stop worrying about your ciabatta & try supporting your club. Fans on the train were complaining to me that the soul has gone from the place now with most supporters just there to say they support chelseas when they have no affiliation with the roots of the club.

Reports in the sunday paper say you are after Figo and likely to have to pay £75k a week. That would cause some unrest in the dressing room and be a big mistake in my opinion, not exactly in his prime is he? Fulham also after him too.

I havent heard that one yet Phil, but i know they want a big name to head up the challenge for next 18 months. I'd really like an established international etc at the club but would prefer someone who still has a love for the game not Figo.

The way they are looking at it is you can pay wages like that if they put 5000 people on the gate each week. We need to be selling out our ground each week, currently we get 13500 average whcih is 4200 under capacity, the average away following is about 1200 so 1500 seats so unsold anyway each week in the away end.

A big name would easily sell the remainder of the seats in the home areas. There are plans afoot to upgrade the ground & a potential 7000 extra seats if we get promoted taking capacity to 25000 roughly same as Charlton, Reading etc.

Going to be an exciting rollercoster ride! I just hope the owners dont get bored! At least they are SPORTS businessmen which helps.

its been a bit quiet last few days , just letting Mowgli know that Bet365 have Damion Stewart at 40's for 1st goal tomorrow. Already hit 1st goal 4 times this season, the bookies have still missed it.

I told you he'd score, pity it was in the wrong net though

a 2-1 defeat at Sheff utd not entirely unexpected as a fall was coming after all the hype. Lets hope we just knuckle down & hope that the team gets some results in the coming weeks.

I was in a rush yesterday to get to City so didn't have a bet on anything but was going to have a few quid on Damo, it's a shame you didn't have him in a double with Vodka Bleu the other week, would have been a nice bank for Cheltenham. Can't believe he was still 40-1.

Default Re: QPR thread

well yesterday was the new dawn with the line up as follows:

GK Camp as ever a confident display
LB Delaney (from Hull) looked very solid & his height & pace will be an advantage
RB Connolly (from Arsenal) can play at centre half also, another tall lad
CB Hall (from Wigan) very commanding & assured on the ball. picked up an injury
CB Stewart carried off late on after a nasty kick in the side
MD Busacky (from Plymouth) our new star number 10, involved in everything
MD Leigerwood played well after 4 games out, ran the midfield
MD Rowlands dribbled past 4 players & stumbled when about to score!
FW Blackstock a poor show again, not sure how long he will last
FW Vine (from Birmingham) great run, great goal, will be an asset
FW Agyemang (from Preston) a handful & will score goals

Subs
GK Crowther Youth team keeper not used
Mancienne came on late to replace Stewart
Balanta not used
Epharim (from West Ham) came on late for Blackstock, didnt get involved too much
Lee (from Man Utd) came on 2nd half for Hall, can play defence or midfield

so 8 new players used on the day from the 9 signings they have made in the window. Only Mahon was missing through illness.

Biggest crowd of the season 16000+ also (bunch of gloryhunters!), the only way is up!!

Mowgli, firstly, rumour is that Donovan Ricketts is signing for us? Is he any good, i assume he will be reserve.

Secondly, Bet365 have Damion Stewart at 40's tonight 1st goal again. Just had a small interest.

Donovan Ricketts - out of contract in the summer so you get him for a nominal fee, he is not a finished product by any stretch of the imagination, his kicking is poor at times and he often fails to collect from corners and set pieces but he is a world class shot stopper, he pulls off some wonderful saves, often tipping shots over the bar that he has no right to save. Often has a confidence problem but always gives 100%.

Who is your 1st choice keeper? He may push him for that place and he is good pals with Damian Stewart (who I have just backed for 1st goal ), Donovan is a really nice fella, laid back and really cares about results and keeping a clean sheet, met him at a fans forum with Nathan Doyle who went to Hull, now he is a player you would like to sign, was different class for us and is not getting a game at Hull, played right back for us but is a midfielder by trade.

Just setting off to Bradford V Shrewsbury in two mins, we get to see our Chilean striker Willy Topp play 90 mins tonight if Peter Thorne is not fit.

Well Mowgli, Donovan had his work permit turned down & stays at Bradford despite Bradford spending money on new signings as they thought it was done deal Poxy agent by the looks of it.

Yesterdays game showed what we can do again by beating jt top Bristol City 3-0, comments on player performance:

GK Camp done what he had to do but in 2nd half faced a aerial battle from Adebola
LB Delaney again played well & came forward more
RB Mancienne (loan Chelsea) had a decent game after injury
CB Rehman still makes silly mistakes but did better than usual in place of Hall
CB Stewart Excellent in the air, didnt score this week!
MD Busacky saw plenty of ball & capped it off with a goal
MD Mahon (from Watford) Star man for me, an dominating performance
MD Rowlands played well again linking up with Vine
FW Epharim caused a few problems before tiring & being subbed
FW Vine a handful again & only thing missing was a goal
FW Agyemang 2 goals, what more do we want!

Subs
GK Crowther Youth team keeper not used
Connolly Came on 2nd half to replace Rehman in centre
Blackstock Not used
Lee came on 2nd half for Epharim, a couple of good runs late on
Leigerwood replaced the tired Vine late in the game.

Reports in the sunday papers say you may be looking for a new manager a bit sooner than expected. He has spoken to Napoli about being their manager behind the backs of the powers that be at QPR and they are fuming. He has been to Italy for a funeral but now wants to return to see about this other job, apparently he is unsettled in England and is having trouble with the language barrier. May be a load of cobblers but just thought I'd put it in your thread and see if you'd heard anything down your way.

heard it but it was denied. Dont think he will make it past the summer. Big rumour Vialli is being lined up by the owners.

Guess the player?

That's right - hat trick hero - Andy Cole.

What was the game like?

2-0 up & lose 4-2, i just dont get it.

Cole was getting slagged off big time by the pathetic tossers who make up songs about every player in the opposing side & sods law, next move a deflected free kick ends up ricochetting into the net, we go in 2-1 up. Then they come out & play footie 2nd half & we dont. We had enough chances to win it but someone like cole doesnt miss those sort of chances gifted by the 2 centre halves we had out there tonight.

The atmosphere went from one of play off talk to relegation talk in about 30 mins!!!
