Good to see things improving at QPR, always a side I have time for.

new manager appointed today

50yr old Luigi de Canio

former manager of Napoli & Siena amongst others

Caretaker Mick Harford resigned after being offered another role at the club (didnt want to be a cleaner then!)

Much respect to Mick who has surprised me in the results we have recently achieved although it wasnt difficult to pick a side more equipped than JG picked.

new regime, onwards & upwards.

2 home games on the bounce now to start climbing that league.

Di Canio wins his first game in charge. There is plenty of optimism at the club at the moment having gone 5 games unebeaten conceding just 1 goal in the process. Another home game this week gives us the chnace to get another couple of places higher before a crunch derby on Sat vs Palace.

The new loanee Buzsaky looked good but needed the game as it showed how tired he was at the end. Leigerwood is showing that he can boss the midfield & scored a great goal yesterday. Vine & Eprahim both end their loan spells today so we must get them back if possible whilst we are in this position. Vine is crucial as his hold up,play is excellent & he creates so many scoring chances.

its been nearly 12 years since we played Chelski, Ken Bates was still thier chairman & they still had terracing behind the goals from what i recall. Boxing day games at 11am stick in the mind with hardly any buses running trying to get there on time was so difficult.
The best memory was the 6-0 thrashing over Easter in 1986 on our plastic pitch, there is youtube footage of this great occasion. I had only recently started going out with the missus & she remembers the sight of me dancing on the pool tables late that night in one of our locals.

EDIT - sorry we played them in a friendly about 6 years ago & promptly thrashed them 3-1 when they had the likes of Desailly & Le Boeuf at the back.

Looking forward to renewing the rivlary

Come on u R's

we are fcukin shite & with 2 inept defenders & others not having a clue, i dont think the italian will last long at the helm

fans are not happy, i even saw one have a go at vine from hte touchline & whatever he said Vine came back at him & went looking for him after the match also, the fella bottled it of course & scurried away.

2 chelsea loanees sinclair & sahar both looked very ordinary tonight, sahar has failed to score in his loan spell & isnt good enough even at this level.

better news since i last posted with 4 pts from 2 away games. Beating Burnley was excellent & again we upset the bookies against an in form side

Tomorrow we face Wolves which is always difficult but i think we should get a point if we can defend better & keep playing the way the new manager wants us to.

Vine is suspended so another change up front. Blackstock is obvious choice in that position.

Most important thing tomorrow is to buy the Chelsea tickets (1 per person ) only 6023 tickets given to us for the trip to the scumford fridge

MoM the other night apparently

Funny story also, we hada stag do down there for the coventry game & hired a box, there were 10 of us & the bird comes in & says by the way, there is no match sponsor tonight, so you can do the MoM award. Tell me after 80 mins & we'll announce it. At HT she came in & asked, we had all forgotten as the beer was flowing.
Busacky scored a cracker in the 2nd half & then Coventry scored to equalise, we decided on Stewart as he was playing well at the back & then last minute, he gets beat in the air & they score the winner!

On the pitch after the game, the players are warming down, no stewart??? Dowie comes out for his post match interview, we get told to shut up as we are semi abusing him from 10 yards away, then our new boss comes out & starts shaking everyones hands thinking we were there for him, he'll be alright when he speaks english.

Finally stewart arrives all suited & booted. he doesnt say a word, poses for the photo & then wanders off with this little trophy. All of us said "what was the point of that" not sure he wanted to talk but he looked a bit thick"!

With a decent centre half alongside, he aint a bad player, he is the only one we have stuck by since he joined as he has never been out of the side, rarely gets booked also & scores the odd header.

we must be the richest team in the championship now (& the strongest if you know what i mean!!)

QPR have received a major cash injection after the family of the world's fifth richest man, Lakshmi Mittal, bought up a 20% shareholding of the Coca-Cola Championship club.
Mittal, an Indian steel magnate who is worth a reported £50billion, will be represented on the club's board alongside Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore by his son-in-law, Amit Bhatia.
In a statement, the QPR board said: "This investment in QPR by the Mittal family is a great stepping stone towards the future development of the club and supports the ambition of the current shareholders to reach the Premier League in the near future.
"The new capital being invested in QPR will help fund the programme that is needed to help us achieve this target."
Formula One chief Ecclestone and Renault team boss Briatore took over at Loftus Road in November and had already pledged hefty transfer funds for manager Luigi De Canio.
Rangers are currently bottom of the Championship, but they could now potentially rival west London neighbours Chelsea in the transfer market should Mittal dip into his vast fortune.
Bhatia added: "The family is excited about becoming involved with Queens Park Rangers Football Club.
"As a family, we love sport and particularly enjoy English football, and alongside Bernie and Flavio, we hope that we can improve the club's performance, with the ultimate ambition of a place in the Premier League."

seems like a good investment there - they could make a cracking profit selling the land off to housing developments. London prices are crazy!

seriously though - promotion next year??

done our usual over the U's we beat them at our place & they beat us at thiers!

useful 3pts today & 4 matches unbeaten but 2 difficult away fixtures now PLymouth & Watford. The 2 Busacky goals were worth the admission money!

Good luck to QPR, I really think they will be going places with the money.
Don't know about the manager, but I would have thought that a higher-profile manager would make it easier to attract better players. With the sort of cash Mittal has, surely someone like Martin Jol would not be automatically out of the question if Rangers are mid-table.

I just hope that the cash does not make them lose their identity. It would be a shame if they joined Fulham as just another 'small mans Chelsea'.

Yes, i agree someone like Jol would be a far better choice but they have picked Di Canio & lets see what happens. the fans are split in thier views on the fella so far.

I dont think we would ever lose our identity to be honest as Rangers fans have it in their blood & you are either born a rangers fan or not. You dont suddenly become one (well i know a few who were converted by the style in the 70's / 80's). I know so many so called Chelsea fans who buy the shirts & watch from thier armchair but they arent "real" fans are they?

Even in our best days, we only had a max of 28000 fans but 4 years ago we hit an average of 16000 which was excellent but every game was a cup final that season & the tickets were 150 cheaper than they are now.

I can see great things happening & its about time but i wont get carried away just yet.

Buying victories now and Damo Stewart scores again. Can we have him back as our defence is shocking?

yep thats 4 now for the season

gotta be worth a bet every week as he is always 33/1 +

not 1st goal today though but the other 3 were.

He is playing well. You can have him for £500k when they clear out the rubbish & bring in the new boys in January!

If QPR can but in more results like then who knows how their season might finsh up. There's only 13 points from them and the playoff spot so if they can put a decent run together they might just sneak a top 6 spot.
