Default Off Side Rule

Can anybody make any sense out of this off-side rule change,
watched the Leics v Bolton match last night, players yards of side at set plays, but its ok if they are not interfering with play?.....I think thats correct
Any thoughts?

You are not offside if the ball is not passed to you or you are not obstructing the keeper. I think, possibly.

Default Off Side Rule

its a big bank of wank. you should only be deemed not interfering with play if you are down on ya arse or running back away from play with preferably your hands in the air.

Default Well

I don't think you'll find that there has actually been any change to the offside rule. Only FIFA can change the laws of the game and you don't see this sort of bollox happening in any other country.

Looks to me like a bunch of referees have got together and decided that they haven't been getting enough attention in the last week so it's about time they did something fukcing stupid under the guise of "interpretation".

Default Off Side Rule

Apparently the laws haven't changed but FIFA/UEFA thought they'd make it all a lot 'clearer' and issues some guidelines on what constitutes interfering with play, hence our refs new interpretation of the rules. As said above your only not interfering with play if your trying to get back onside or your on your arse etc in my book, but I ain't a ref.

Correct Garthy. Law changes seem to be made at the start of major championships now to give maximum publicity. To issue "clarification" mid-season is just plain stupid.

Like I said, it just seems to be our dcikhead refs that have decided to play silly buggers. Have you seen a spate of similar antics in the recent internationals or Champs League?

So much for consistency.
