The whole defense is that poor it’s unreal. Barton wasn’t interested. Martins is such a poor player has no football brain at all and has absolutely nothing to his game other than speed, why was he playing on the wing as well?. Milner doesn’t know what going past people means. Smith spent the whole game in midfield even though he was supposedly playing up front.. Butt and Viduka were the only two who had anything about them.

Now Derby have got 4 of there 7 points against Newcastle. Others being draws at home to Bolton and Portsmouth and an away draw at Fulham. It's also only the second time they've scored more than one in a game (home to Portsmouth 2-2).

Words can't explain how bad Newcastle were. Amazing thing is we're still in the top half

Can't believe how up-and-down we are, just coming off a draw against Arsenal and two wins against Brum and Fulham (a win in London!) then go and put in a performance like this

Still, could be worse, could be a mackem

Were unbeaten in 5, back in the top half of the table, players are getting fit now (duff, barton, viduka, taylor) and were still getting 50k plus at our games.

Cheer up ya miserable fckers!

Duff and Viduka will make a difference to be honest.

I still can't understand the mentality that they are a big club though. Uefa cup place for them every two years is about all they can expect.

aye welcome back ODM

having Duff back for you is like a £8million signing and if u keep him fit and get Owen back then you'll finish in the top 10.

performances like that one and you'll soon drop down again and the back pages will be full of big Sam is he/isnt he?

Lets see if Sam's shrewdness that he showed at Bolton can get him the players in the January sales , that will make or break Newcastles season.

Dunno about his shrewdness, he had money to spend in the summer and hasn't exactly bought many great players.

Geremi looks poor and gets taken off nearly every game, yet he remains club captain?

Rozenhal and Capaca after good starts seem to have turned in the run of the mill Newcastle defender who makes elementary mistakes.

Enrique (who he payed £6m for) hardly gets a game.

Smith tries hard, but theres very little end product, he needs to play up front or not at all.

Even Joey Barton (who I thought looked a quality player at Man City) has struggled so far.

As for Duff, I'd rather see N'Zogbia wide left. I know he's had a lot of injuries to me, but since he's came to Newcastle he's looked like a one trick pony to me. He's so left footed, and it's so obvious to see where he's going every time. I hope he proves me wrong though.

Newcastle IMO are a big club and have a good fan base but their fans must wonder why they haven't won a trophy in years.

Quite simply they've made to many bad signings. They've brought in a lot of quality signings but many of these players have failed to deliver. Even Owen has spent the most of his Newcastle career on the sidelines.

OK its the same for other clubs as well but at least with the big 4 for every 1 bad signing comes 3 or 4 good ones. You can't say that with Newcastle.
