Default Mourinho Talking Bollox Already...

From bbc...

He said: "Manchester United's spending is something that we don't control, we don't want to control - we don't comment, we don't want to comment.

"But when we spent some millions, everybody pointed at us as the team with more responsibility to win."
He added: "This was because we were the spenders in the market.

"That's not the case this season. The only player we've bought was Florent Malouda. We are very happy with that."

I can see what he is trying to say to be fair to him.

His best comments were a couple of weeks ago when he was comparing young players to melons lol

What he says is kinda true though. But for me I guess, people do not label MU as only a club who is good because of the money the spend due to they were a big club for a long while. As in Chelsea case, when Roman take over, we were not that big and suddenly we are one of Europe's top team

Guess will take time to see the public stop labelling us as success based on money only.

He's right, they have only bought Malouda, however, I think they paid for Alex and then loaned him to PSV, so he wasn't fee and the other signings like Pizzaro and Ben Haim are sure to be getting a pretty packet in wages.
Fact remains, if he had to go out and spend £50M etc this close season it'd be a very poor reflection on the previous millions of business he has already done.

The fact is that Man U's money is basically self earnt whereas Chelsea's is all out of one man's pocket.

Time will never stop the public labelling you as success based on money

Well we are speaking in terms of spending, not how the funds is originated .

People label our success because of our money that we used on the transfers market. I'm pretty sure if Abramovich didn't splash such funds on the transfer market there wouldn't be this bollock about success based on money only.

You're absolutely right! There wouldn't have been talk about success based on money beacause if Abramavich hadn't spent the money there wouldn't have been the success.

I think people's view of Chelsea will change when they do something similar to what Man Utd did when they had the golden youth team of Beckham, Scholes, the Nevilles etc...

When they all came through together people saw that Man Utd weren't only splashing the cash on the big stars but were building a club top to bottom.

Chelsea's Kenyon claims that they are trying to do something similar at Chelsea so I suppose time will tell.

So it is safe to say then next season that MU success is also based on money. See how much cash they have splashed this season .

I'm sure without it they won't be champion this season then. Because they have few weak areas that they need to address last season. Especially up front where the options were limited due to injuries etc. They were lucky that Chelsea was really hit hard by John Terry missings. While Christiano Divenaldo didn't go missing at all sadly . And both are equal importance for both team. Without Terry, Chelsea was sh*t in the back. Without Ronaldo, I can't see who can create those last moment magic.

Would have 2 say with confidence 'will at least be 2 years away' no sooner unless the team gets its ass into gear in a big way but this upcomming season not sure if that will be enough even.... bit OT i know.... is any1 thinking this type of thing of teams like Bayern aswell???? Not sure I put them in the same category as if they didn't do something after last seasons "poor" effort by their standards the fans would settle for no less than blood... not pretty... and well Liverpool but we seemed too perhaps not spent so much as selling and trading players has done very well for us... I personally hold it against Chelski... kind of just because they must have felt that overpaying for top players would solve all their problems 1 + 1 does not always = 2 in this world.... a great example of this...
