Agree with Matt but there potential is there for sure, he's not there yet but it wouldnt shock me to see him get there one day. Shame.

Simple answer? Yes, Anderson is really that good.

Evidence for that statement, if you can watch United victory away to Liverpool last season (the december one where we ended their title challange) , he dominated the match, box to box, tackling and passing of the highest quality. He took the much vaunted Steven Gerrad out of the game entirley. A performance of the highest quality, in a hostile amtosphere. He was only 19 remember. It was Keane like.

For all the importance of Ronaldo, I know who is the more strategic long term player for United.

I do, I had to go to work the day after the champions league final in 2005, I shared an office with 3 other guys then. All Liverpool fans. My life was hell for weeks.

It's a karma thing for me

at the beginning of the season.

We don't appear to be making any moves in the transfer department. I guess with the Euros still on and Sir Alex not back from his hols in France till Monday things are fairly quiet.

I'm not sure we really need anyone to be honest, If Saha doesn't look fit then a striker I guess. Can't think of many people out there better than a fit Saha though...

Perhaps a right back ? Depends on Nev I guess ?

No point in spending money that isn't needed, I suppose we need to wait for the ronaldo situation be cleared up. If he goes and Sir Alex gets handed 80m to spend then things get interesting

Be interesting to see whom is first choice keeper next season, now or never for Ben Foster I think

Platini Backs Madrid (NOTW)

Why does the UEFA President endorse Ronaldo going to Madrid?
He has no right to put his two pennies worth in especially the position of authority he has it is rather controversial in my opinion, knowing full well the current events happening over this ongoing saga of player v club.
It is all too clear here that Real Madrid have acted inapproriately and contacted the player in some form to ask him to join them behind Manchester United's back. A an action that has seen clubs been fined for it in the past and openly told as a no no by UEFA & FIFA!

I personally think Platini and the likes of Blatter (FIFA) have a personal grudge against anything English as they are always the first to speak out whenever something negative in our game happens.

I think it is time for English clubs to speak out against these so called ambassadors of the sport who make the decisions all over the world for the so called good of the game. Manchester United should be rightly furious about Platini's comments and he should be asked to investigate the whole shoddy under hand tactics that Real Madrid have been up to and not endorseing it !!!

80m

can't see Fergie getting 80m mate
really can't
Glazers will use the bulk of any Ronaldo transfer fee
to pay the debts

hope i am wrong though

Whats the latest with Ronaldo then, in Betfair specials he is 2.1 to leave Man Utd - I don't see why he is currently odds on to stay, he wants to go and Real want him and I think Uniteds hand will be forced as they won't want to keep an unhappy player.

With today being the last day of the Euro's, this saga will come to the fore again in the media this week so I think would be the best price you'd get him at - Guillem Balague said this morning in the RP also he thought it was a good bet. Whats your thoughts?

I think on balance he'll stay.

Four years left on his contract.

Think he'll stay for one more year

Good by and thanks for all the hard work Charlie.

You don't turn down your country, I fully get that.

I think he's been a big part of our recent success and without him there would be no Ronaldo, Nani or Anderson at OT.

McClair appears certain to step up to replace him, which delights me

Queiroz poised for Portugal job

Carlos Queiroz has previously managed Portugal's Under-20 side

Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz is close to being appointed the new Portugal manager, BBC Sport understands.
He met Portugal's Football Federation at the weekend over its offer of a £1.5m four-year deal to replace Luiz Felipe Scolari.
Queiroz, 55, said: "Things are being dealt with by officials from the two institutions involved.
"The important thing is for the two institutions to reach agreement."
But he added: "From my part, there is not much to say, it needs to be resolved between the federation and United.
"I can say little more than you know at this time. It's out of my hands."
606: DEBATE
Have your say on this story
Queiroz has previously managed Real Madrid, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates as well as Portugal's Under-20 side.
He has had two spells with United, first coming to Old Trafford in the summer of 2002. He then spent one year in charge of Madrid before rejoining United on a one-year rolling contract in 2004. United are thought to be desperate to keep Queiroz, who has often spoken of his desire to succeed current manager Ferguson, but the club refused to comment on his possible departure when contacted.

I'll be very surprised if we let him go for £20 million.

Funny Fergie et al have been moaning about Ronaldo and Real Madrid when they continuely employ similar tactics!

No comparison whatsoever

Man Utd have made an official bid - Madrid haven't

Man Utd haven't been saying Berbatov wants to come to Utd - madrid have been saying Ronaldo wants go to Madrid

Madrid have been making press releases for months - Man Utd havent

So wheres the similar tactics

Personally Man Utd would be better off spending the £20 mill on buying out Tevez's contract, at least you get a hard working team player rather than a sulky wannabe with the work ethic of a four toe'd sloth.
Tev and Roo have enough work to do without adding another player who plays for his own ego rather than the team.
ALSO....
After watching MUTV its nice to hear Saha has released his annual pre season statement on how
Quote:
He's fit and ready for this season and pushing for a 1st team place

That is untill he rips his sock in the pre match warm up and is out for most of the season . (AGAIN)

I have to admit, i wouldnt mind Berbatov staying at Spurs. He's definitely a class act but his attitude isnt right. He spent the first half of last season seemingly in a sulk. I'd rather see Robbie Keane go to be honest. I could see Berbatov being a success at Man U. Ferguson has a knack of getting the best out of temperamental players. He wont stand for any nonsense.

Exactly, Fergie isn't gonna take any shit off him! He has that lazy style but he is so creative with it. Didn't hurt Cantona at all did it
