Would selling ronaldo for 75m, and buying Berbatov for 25m really weaken the team all that much ?

Would replacing one of Rooney/Tevez with Berbatov improve your attacking options enough to compensate for the loss of Ronaldo on the left wing? Almost certainly not in my opinion.

I guess i'm wondering if Luis Nani can offer most of what christiano offers on the wing, and Berbatov can offer the proper striker that we've been lacking for ages ?

This assumes that Saha will never wear a red shirt again. If Saha was fit, it'd be a non issue, he'd lead the line.

Seems like Sir Fergie and his hypocritical ways again! It's not ok for Real Madrid to tap up Cristiano Ronaldo but perfectly ok for his interest in Berbatov to be loud and clear. Talk about double standards! I hope Berbatov doesn't join you as with the summer progressing I'm getting more and more hopeful that he will stay.

Definatly. Can you see bergertov scoring as many as Ronaldo did this year? Doubt it. If they didnt have him this year i dont think they would have won the double

Do you really rate him that highly?

Always *thought* he was a bit of a donkey but I haven't seen him that much.

Don't think Utd are quite persuing Berbatov in the same way that Real are with Ronaldo.

Show me the sourced quotes from people at United regarding Berbatov that are similar to what we're seeing out of madrid just now if you can.

Could I see Berbatov scoring as many as ronaldo, be a big ask, but perhaps.

He could hit thirty goals, Dimitar could be what we've been missing since RvN left. Actually reminds me of his play quite a lot.

For all our success, we've becoem slightly one dimensional, stop ronaldo, stop united.

His departure would let other players shine more, Nani for sure, but in particular I'm thinking of Anderson, who I predict will surpass Ronaldo in two years and be acknowledged as the greatest player in the world.

Saha ? Yeah, top top player when fit. Killer striker, such a shame it's not worked for him.

The rumour was that R.V.N and Ronaldo
didn't get on
if thats the case then if Ronaldo goes to Madrid
they are back in the same team

Much as RvN was a great player, he's 31 now.

Why did we sell him ? Same reason Ince and Keane went, there can only be one boss and anyone that challanges Sir Alex is gone, regardless of who they are.

It's brutal, but you can't argue with 10 titles

I think selling Ronaldo would make Rooney shine more, as you say put him upfront with Berbatov with Nani on the wing would give UTD plan B.

As for Saha I agree, a fully fit Saha with games under his belt is awesome, shame he never really got off the sick bed and had a decent run of games, he always scored against us and funny enoguh he's mentioned with a part-ex on Cruz.

Would you like Cruz for £10milllion? Do you think he would fit in with Utd?

Time for Ronaldo to put up or shut up.

Whatever he wants is fine by me, happy for him to stay, if he wants to move to madrid, that's fine too. As long as we get paid.

More concerned to see an knee injury for Anderson yesterday playing for Brazil, the foul was carried out by a certain Javier Mascherano.

Hope he's ok

From what I hear he's fine and the tackle was nothing special, should've hit harder Javier!

Is Anderson really that good?

I havnt been that impressed by him to be honest and he couldnt hold down a regular place last season.

No loss for Brazil at all, he has been shit virtually every game i've seen for them.

I think Anderson is class
Not sure it's as much being able to hold down a place in the first team but more we had a lot of good midfielders, he is young and it was a case of getting him adapted and giving him game time
I saw practically every Man U game last season and I think he's a class act myself, still has a way to go but the potential is there, and will be a big part of the squad next season for sure
