You think someone would pay 15m for him ? Seems a lot, but then again Darren Bent went for 17m didn't he

The whole transfer thing has kicked off this morning with Barca confirming that Eto, ronlandinho and deco are all free to leave. Once the first big move is made, it kicks off a chain reaction.

It lookslike Chelsea are going to try and spend big, but will anyone sell to them ?? I can't see Kaka or Torress moving regardless of price

I can see Deco at Chelsea or Inter. Eto'o I used to rave about, not too sure these days. If Berbatov departs then there's Spurs' answer but would he want to go to a side like Spurs right now?

There'll be a fool out there willing to pay 15m or so for Crouch, step forward Newcastle and Portsmouth.

Hopefully Pennant will be fcuked off, Newcastle again in a part ex for Milner!

I can see us getting 10M for Crouch, but no more than that. TBH more likely to go for a little more than the 7M we paid for him.

Milner coming in, hmmm. Doesn't fill me with hope tbh. Has always been a bright spotty prospect, but has he really pushed on and looked a strong player? I'd rather have Bently, but not a massive fan of his ego.

What age was Joe Cole when he joined Chelsea?

Aston Villa have agreed a £5.5million deal for Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell. The former Reading star only moved to Stamford Bridge last summer on a free transfer, but he was unable to force a regular place in Chelsea's first XI. And after only seven Premier League starts for the Blues, Sidwell has been offered a move to Villa Park. Villa boss Martin O'Neill is keen to bolster his small squad as he attempts to build a side capable of a top-six Premier League finish next season.

Looks like Barry is coming

He's dancing and moving about too. Guess it was pre injury really.

Always felt rap has missed a letter. The big C in front of it. This has done little to change my opinion of it

This Russian playmaker Arshavin has been in my mind for some time now and watching him yesterday I really think this guy can step up and be world class. Absolutely amazing player and still young. He has pass, creativity, pace and can score goals.

Kind of player I would like to see at Anfield. Shows how good the Russians think he is by still picking him despite being suspended for the opening 2 group games. What I saw of him against Sweden impressed me. I guess he'll go on a club like Arsenal instead of Liverpool. Plenty of decent European players around that for me could do more than a job at Anfield, Luka Modric for one was a player I liked.

Would prefer to see Bentley come to Liverpool to 'solve' the right midfield problem, if Ince gets the Blackburn job i dont think that'll convince Bentley to stay. Added to Barry and a new out and out forward and things could look brighter for another season of maybe!

A player I really like the look of and have done for years, was shocked when he left Ajax for Hamburg, he's been awesome there for them.

Arshavin is a player I would really like to see but i just dont see it happening.

REDS CLOSING ON DOSSENA DEAL
Jimmy Rice 26 June 2008
Liverpool Football Club expect to complete the signing of left-back Andrea Dossena next week, Chief Executive Rick Parry has confirmed.
A deal to bring the 26-year-old Udinese defender to Anfield is almost tied up and is likely to be confirmed on the club's official website shortly.

Parry said: "We are now ready to confirm the signing of Dossena. The deal should go through next week after finalising the paperwork."

The full-back, who has one Italy cap to his name, will become the second new addition to Rafa Benitez's squad following the free transfer of Swiss defender Philipp Degen.

Dossena is seen as an ideal replacement for John Arne Riise, who departed for Serie A side Roma last week.

Parry continued: "John was an incredibly enthusiastic defender who was always a great pro.

"He worked hard and never gave us a minute's trouble. The fans will remember that powerful shot of his that brought them to their feet on many occasions.

"We had a good chat about his time here and he wants to thank the fans for the support he was given down the years. He secured Champions League and FA Cup success at Anfield and also helped us win the Worthington Cup and two European Super Cups."

Reds snap up Danish starlet

Young striker signs three-year deal

By Kent Hedlundh Last updated: 27th June 2008

Benitez: Landed another young star

Liverpool have raided Denmark to sign highly-rated Herfolge starlet Nikola Saric.

Rafa Benitez is believed to have fended off interest from a host of clubs across Europe, including Barcelona, to snare the 17-year-old striker.

Saric has agreed a three-year deal with Liverpool and the youngster is excited at the prospect of moving to Anfield.

"Of course, I want to join Liverpool FC." Saric told Herfolge's official website.

"I will get to train with the big names over there and develop in the reserves.

"It is a tremendous chance for me and I am very happy.

"Since I feel the time is right and that I am mature enough for a new challenge, we have been waiting for the right club to come with an offer."

Happy

Herfolge sports director Per Rud was happy with the deal the club agreed for the Danish Under 18 international.

"We have tried to protect Nikola as much as we could, but you can't control the media." said Rud.

"It is unbelievable how many enquiries we have got on Nikola, but when it comes to serious negotiations, it has been far between them.

"We are happy and proud that Nikola will join one of the best club's in the world.

"We are also happy that Herfolge have earned some money and we feel we have deserved that."
