Default Le dieu

I've just sat and watched the Sky interview with Eric Cantona before tonights game and I was a kid all over again, hanging on every word.

He is, without a doubt my own Pele/George Best/Eusebio. I doubt that I will ever see another player who enthralled me so much.

The time that he scored against Sunderland and just mopped up the adulation of the Old Trafford crowd is one of my favourite footballing moments of all time.

King Eric, I salute you.

I'll never forget Dennis Bergkamps hat trick at Leicester that night, it was the greatest individual performance I had ever seen on a football pitch.

Its a shame the Zola's the Cantona's the Bergkamp's seem to be a bit of a dying breed now, its seems to be more about power and pace than technique and skill.

If a young Teddy Sheringham came through a youth system now he wouldnt get a game.

Cantona is my all time hero, without a doubt. I'm off to find some youtube stuff.
