Made me laugh tbh, don't suppose they'd like it down the Lane though......

Alex, what on Earth do you mean "busted" ? You seem to think they'll done something wrong or comitted an offence that someone could come after them for. Care to elaborate exactly what they could get "busted" for ??

It's a joke, lighten up

Didnt Rio Ferdinand mention in his book that a senior member of the England team was a confirmed racist ? (hinting massively that it was JT)

I thought the title of this f*cking thing was "Football & Sports Banter" and hence I posted the picture.

I thought we were kind of exempt from the PC brigade, maybe I was wrong. Happy Holiday or is it Winterval?

I saw the picture on a Tottenham website which was discussing the conspiracy theory re JT's sending off at the Lane the other week and it made me laugh.

P.S.

I don't think Wenger's a paedophile, Sol, Keegan or Jenas are gay and neither do I care, but it doesn't stop me finding caricatures/pictures etc. amusing.

Unhappy England captain racist remarks ?

Tottenham 2-1 Chelsea
been told that terry made a racist remark to a tottenham player before been sent off or after, the story a few days a go in the express did not say any names but i was looking at the england line up for the holland game After six players withdrew over the weekend, two Tottenham Hotspur players pulled out Jermaine Jenas Aaron Lennon's knee injury
don't think this story will go way looks like McClaren could be looking for a new captain very soon..

For the Blues this proved costly when Terry was shown his second yellow and sent off for what seemed like an altercation with Chimbonda.bbc

is all this Graham Poll's story a cover up on what realy happened in this game ?

Unhappy Re: England captain racist remarks ?

It is understood the football fraternity is aware and shocked at the alleged incident... all the players involved are believed to be keen to see the matter kept under wraps."
McClaren: off-field concerns

The Daily Express, following a story yesterday from The Voice newspaper, reports that Steve McClaren is facing an off-the-field crisis after one of his players was accused of making a "deeply disparaging racial remark" toward a fellow England player.
For legal reasons the players concerned cannot be named but it is understood the incident is alleged to have taken place during a top-flight match in London. And, as the Express says, "such is the seriousness of the accusation that it threatens to eclipse all the other issues McClaren has had to endure in such a short space of time as England boss".

Gerrard keen on England captaincy

Gerrard is one of the favourites for the England captaincy

Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has admitted he wants to succeed David Beckham as captain of England.
Beckham stood down after the World Cup in Germany and Gerrard is one of the leading candidates to take the armband. He said: "Obviously I'd love to captain the country. There is no better feeling than leading the country out but that's up to Steve McClaren. "It's his decision and there are a lot of racist candidates out there that would do a fantastic job as well as myself."

Alex I can see your point, however i was at the game and behind the goal where the incident happened. Firstly I didn't realise that JT had been sent off, I then said to my mate next to me that he must have said something ( I thought he'd sworn at Poll as the challenge was inocuous).

When I watched that evening on the TV I then thought he must have something racist. If you watch it the Tottenham players are incensed, particularly Chimbonda who chases after him. Earlier Chimbondaa had suffered a savage tackle from Lampard which damaged his knee ligaments and he got up and got on with it. It's funny that he goes barmy about a nudge.

Finally JT who had been hounding Poll all afternoon for every decision walked straight off, without a word which I found strange.

The rumour and it is only a rumour going around on various websites is that JT said " F*ck off you lippy black monkey", Poll heard it, but sent him off for a push which he was pleased to take.

OK, as Chelsea fan I've not made any serious comment on this thread before as it's easy to be seen to be sticking up for your own player and I'm aware of the reputation Blues fans have for being blinkered in such matters.

But...the way John Terry is being vilified without a single shred of evidence is quite ridiculous. I'm not just referring to some of the posts in this thread (which are fairly mild compared to other places on the web!), but there are still some massive inaccuracies being bandied about which seem very unfair to me.

Firstly - Rio's book. Can someone point me to the part of the book where Rio mentioned a current member of the England team was a "known racist" and hinted massively it was JT? Certainly the serialisations in the papers concentrated on an incident that happened when Rio was at West Ham, where a black team mate was racially abused by a "well known" player, who is now retired - here's what was said about it by 'ethnic media.co' when they interviewed Rio:

Quote:
Rio refuses to name either player, saying only that people would be staggered if they knew the identity of the now retired racist player. ‘It’s too late now to do anything because it would just come down to “he say, he say.” It was about seven or eight years ago and I was amazed by it.’
The entire rumour about the Spurs incident seems to have been generated by a single (anonomous) e-mail that has been posted on numerous fan sites/discussion forums, and contains no proof other than the reaction of Pascale Chimbonda to the incident when Terry was sent off, claiming that his reaction was so furious this was proof that some sort of racist comment must have been said.

Very little publicity has been given to a communication from Donna Cullen, Spurs Director of Communication, when she was asked about the incident by the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust. So here it is:

Quote:
'Dear xxxx, I am happy to, unequivocally, tell you that there was absolutely nothing said on the pitch of a racist nature. We certainly would not cover up any racist incident. It was a nasty, unsupported rumour which started doing the rounds in the press, who themselves now admit it was wrong information. Having spoken to at least two of the players involved I am quite clear that this is total nonsense and I should be grateful if you could pass this on to whoever is still minded to believe there is any truth in it.

Best regards, Donna'
As a Chelsea supporter, I'm quite vociferous in my dislike for many of the actions of my club, and I like to think that I will not blindly go along with whatever spin the Kenyon media-machine puts on our many shortcomings when dealing with other clubs (& their players!).

However, I do happen to think that John Terry doesn't deserve this sort of mud-slinging when not one shred of evidence exists to suggest he has done anything wrong. Bring the evidence to the table & I will most certainly condemn him - if you can't then leave well alone.

Wasn't Rio going on about a game in Croatia in the uefa Cup?? or am i miles out?

I hope Bobby Zamora knows about all this because him & JT are very close friends...and didn't King & Terry played together at youth level in east london - may have just been friends having a dig at each other..
