Barton is from Huyton (according to the link in this thread) which certainly isn't one of the nicest parts of Liverpool. I remember a recent thread about Gerrard's links to the Scouse underworld and Huyton was mentioned there too...

Barton's a moderately talented lad who could have had a good, succesful career if he'd managed to keep it together. He chose to be a cnut. He will get another club though if NUFC don't want him, no messing.

Who would want to sign a player, that inspite of his talent, appears an obvious liability? The training room atmosphere can't be that fantastic if you have a player with the mentality that Barton appears to have. Surely you should want to pull together as a team, not punch the lights out of each other, as he has done in the past. I just regret the fact that inspite of his indiscretions he will be back on the football pitch soon and dads will be paying for their kids to go watch this man play football.

No doubt, is Barton worse than Bowyer though? I know Bowyer had the famous attack that hit the headlines but Barton seems to be more of a serial repeater than Bowyer? Or is it just that Barton's attacks are happening now they just seem to be on a grander scale?
