Default Houllier MUST be sacked

Totally one sided match again and Liverpool still lose to Portsmouth 1-0.

Owen was a joke today. Gerrard one again was the best player on the pitch by a mile.

Houllier should be sacked. It's as simple as that. He has spent more money than Wenger and has bought (for the most part) absolute rubbish. I would name them all but a) I can't spell half the names b) The list is endless and I would be here all day.

I didn't have a bet on this by the way - but my son is a Liverpool fan :o so I am FORCED to watch all thier games.

Wasn't Roy Evans sacked in the end after one year in a dual role.

The Liverpool board haved to be blamed. They have given him all this money and haven't seen a return. He should be sacked.

I agree, Houllier has to go, we all know its going to happen at some point so why wait until the end of the season, P.T. could take temp charge until then. Have Liverpool ever sacked a manager?

Liverpool were as bad today as they were earlier in the season at Fratton.

Seriously though, Heskey is a joker anyway, but where on earth was he supposed to be playing in the first half today? I saw him everywhere apart from up front

Well done to Harry and Jim though, managing to put out a patched up team to say the least, and take us through to the Quarters

Pretty poor game all round really but at least we have an excuse in that we have no team. Missing most of our squad we had a makeshift shift team that worked hard and restricted a poor Liverpool team to nothing.

What a superb weekend - won some cash and dumped the Scousers out of the Cup Looking forward to getting turned over by Arsenal now...

he'll be moved upstairs, he's better off behind the scenes. Catch 22 scenario is if he gets 4th spot, will the board want to get rid of him ? (not that 4th spot looks likely at the moment). we just need a manager who can get some good English talent playing for the club, or better still, some decent Scouse talent. Gerrard's the only one playing his heart out at the moment.

sam allardyce has been mentioned this morning, i'd like to know what the liverpool fans would think of that.

Theres no denying he's done a good job at bolton but IMO guiding mediocre players to a modicum of success is a totally different ballgame to handling the money, agents and egos that invariably come with managing a club like liverpool.

Gordon Strachan ?

Considering how well he did when Houllier was ill, Phil Thompson deserves a chance too.

Surely they will see out the season and if they don't win the UEFA (or at least do very well) and don't get 4th spot I can see O'Neill coming south.

I'd like to see O'Neill, but will he come when there's no Champs League to play.?
