Not sure about that, there seems to be at least 3 teams with real chances of going through in each group.

I might do a thread where people pick 16 teams to qualify, bet no one gets them all right.

Im happy with the draw - fully expecting all 4 entrants from my beloved la liga to advance to the next round

I've looked hard at each of the groups and cannot see the top two shown not qualifying.. perhaps one or two will fail but thats all...

I guess my underlying gripe is that there are too many teams in it to start with.

If I put my reminiscing (sp) hat on, I remember great european nights that only came around once or twice a season and they were f*kin electric atmospheres. Nowadays playing Barca or Milan is nothing special as it happens every year !!!

That is how it appears to me that they will qualify, not necessarily their finishing position out of first or second in the group. Looks fairly pickable to me on the basis of quality of the team and then on their home form. Home form has been specifically selected for CSKA as I believe that few teams will likely travel there and come away with victory. Same with Celtic who have a pretty good home record.

Agree to an extent but then Man U play Liverpool every season and that's always big irrespective of how often they play each other. Big team ties are always big games, shows how much each team has developed and is chance to seek revenge for the loser of the last tie.

On the same basis I think Marseille will fall down. Right now they're really struggling in the Ligue 1 and unless they can do miracles in Europe they are headed to Uefa.

More than happy with Liverpools draw, that group looks more than winnable.
Utd have for me a very tough looking draw, on their day they can and probably would beat anyone in that group home and away but so far they just havent convinced me as of yet so time will tell how they get on.

Chelsea's isnt the easiest either but they should finish top 2 and I think Arsenal will be happy with theirs as Liverpool would be.

Celtic and Rangers have tough draws and will need to win their home games for me to progress. Thats something Celtic have managed to do of late and will need to again. Benfica aren't the force they once were. Rangers have 3 tough teams but once again they have to win at home for me.

Our draw could have been worse, singled out shakhtar donetsk and fenerbache to avoid in pot 4 but all in all content. Our 1st game is in Ukraine Im flying out on the monday morning 17th sept, cnut of a flight ( donetsk is faraway side of ukraine near russian border ) we play Milan after that at C.P, I always think in these competitions if you draw an italian team you want them as soon as possible as they are notorious bad starters at every level of league/section competitions.
