so that would prove that cardiff should play in the welsh league? Or do you just want the deserters punished for mixing with the dirty arrogant english?

no just to show that the welsh clubs can compete with them, and show that progress is being made by them.

I confess I haven't read most of this thread, but how the fcuk can Cardiff represent England? Utter madness!

FA approves Cardiff for Uefa Cup

Cardiff will represent England in next season's Uefa Cup should they win the FA Cup by beating Portsmouth, the Football Association has confirmed.
The decision was taken despite FA rules stating that Welsh clubs can only qualify for Europe through their own national competitions.
The FA also decided that the Welsh national anthem would be played prior to the game at Wembley on 17 May.
Uefa had already hinted they would offer Cardiff a wild card if they won.
Uefa communications director William Gaillard said: "We entirely understood the FA's reasons for their regulations and had no problems with them.
"We just believed that if Cardiff did win the cup and were not given qualification for the Uefa Cup then for sporting reasons we would look to offer them a wild card."

It is not all good news for Cardiff. If they lose the FA Cup final and Pompey finish fifth in the Premier League table, the Bluebirds will miss out on a place in Europe. Instead, the FA will give the Uefa Cup berth to the sixth-placed team in the Premier League.

Commiserations to Cardiff today, certainly didn't disgarce themselves.

Next season they need to be more consistent from the off, if they manage that then a playoff place is well within their grasp.

Sam Hammam has entered negotiations over reeturn of payments after losing the court case and seems like he'll be avoiding a repeat scenario. With off the field problems relaxed and a bit of exposure and money from the cup run, we should get a few more names in this summer to at least have a squad and not run out of steam at the end.

Heaton is in on loan and Enckleman has been offered a contract. Few more players needed though.

Ridsdale has gone on record before the final saying that he is talking to investors but will count chickens when they've hatched on this one...

There will be no glory in your sacrifice. We will erase even the memory of Swansea from the histories! Every piece of Jack parchment shall be burned. Every Jack historian, and every scribe shall have their eyes pulled out, and their tongues cut from their mouths. Why, uttering the very name of Swansea, or The Swans, will be punishable by death! The world will never know you existed at all! The world will know that free men stood against a Jack army, that few stood against many, and before this battle was over, even a Jack-king can bleed.

Tonight, we dine in hell!

Good luck tonight Ali. I'll never forget the night 6 years ago when we went to the allotments in this competition and sent the yellowbellies packing
