God the more and more I look into this story, the more sickend I'm becoming.

The amount of videos easily available from manchester really shows the true nature of the Rangers fans. Yes many behaved well and had a great time, but there are thousands of them who have shamed their country. Truely shocking scenes last night.

Uefa must take action NOW to prevent these morons from tarnishing another country with their antics

Hardly comparable to a European Cup Final, where all the worlds eyes are on you.

Plus we're taking your word for it exactly, whos to say these 'scenes of violence' that cant have been that bad as neither me nor my mate can remember what your talking about, werent started by the Falkirk thugs.?

Inquiry after cup final sparks violent rampage

An inquiry was under way today after hours of violence marred the Uefa Cup Final in Manchester.

One fan was stabbed and police made 42 arrests in hours of violence in Manchester city centre during and after Glasgow Rangers' defeat to Russian opponents Zenit St Petersburg.
And 15 police officers, as well as a police dog, were left nursing a catalogue of injuries as hundreds of riot police and supporters fought running battles.
One senior officer was hit so hard his electronic earpiece was left embedded in his head and had to be removed by doctors.
Another policeman was bottled over the head and another lost his front teeth after being head-butted by a Rangers hooligan.
Other injuries included bruised and cracked ribs, a dislocated shoulder, a broken finger and arm, and cuts needing stitches.

Ambulance crews also came under attack in the violence and two paramedics were reportedly also injured.
Five men arrested for wounding with intent on suspicion of stabbing a rival Russian fan have been released - and it appears the knifeman has escaped.
Sixteen men are currently under arrest for public order offences, four for assault and four for violent disorder and affray. There were further arrests for throwing missiles, possessing an offensive weapon and criminal damage.
Police chiefs said they were left "sickened and disappointed" with the behaviour of some fans.

An army of council workers will begin moving the mountains of rubbish but the Rangers' fans own reputation - and that of the city's for hosting events - may take longer to clean up.

I know I have been slating Rangers fans on here today but fair play to the ones who have came back from Manchester this morning and laid their scarfs and shirts at Celtic Park as a tribute to the Celtic legend Tommy Burns.

You asked for a time...i replied with 2 dates i could remember.
You then put a time limit on it by stating ...11 years ago ?
Your now turning round and saying you or your mate cant remember it....and trying to blame it on Falkirk thugs

Did I blame it on Falkirk thugs..? No I said it is a possibility

Did I put a time limit on it..? No I said 11 years ago was a fair while back, did say it made it any less significant

And the violence shared on the two dates you remembered where in no shape or form as disgracefull or as serious as the scenes last night.

I thought you couldn't remember it? I bet you were there, out of your head on cheap cider and skag. That's why you have no recollection. It all makes sense now.

You bleat on about being 'tarred with the same brush' isn't that what you are doing to 149,800 Rangers fans? or is it just your childish bigotries creeping in?

The general secretary of the Rangers' Supporters Association, John MacMillan, said he was disappointed with the behaviour of some fans. He added: "There is no excuse for it to be honest. From what I saw before the game there was no need for attacking paramedics and the police, it is indefensible."

Oh dear even the general secretary of th supporters trust has had to condem it, not exactly refreshing is it.

Falkirk's Westfield stadium is only half complete, with plans for a third stand

A football supporters website is being investigated by police after councillors in Falkirk received death threats.
The intimidation follows criticism of the council over the future of Falkirk Football Club's Westfield stadium, which is only half complete.
Falkirk Council has a financial stake in the stadium.
The One F In Falkirk site also called for fans to chant "scum" at councillors attending football matches.
The most offensive postings, which called for councillors to be shot and stabbed, have now been removed.
The forum, which has no affiliation with Falkirk Football Club, also features calls for fans to boycott council members' businesses over the issue.
Although construction on the stadium began in 2003, only two stands have been completed.
Some of my colleagues have been interviewed by police about these threats and given personal protection advice

Cllr Malcolm Nicol

Financial concerns and planning issues associated with the stadium's proximity to the Grangemouth oil refinery have resulted in delays to the completion of the project.
In response to the threats, Supt Robbie McGregor, Falkirk's area commander at Central Scotland Police, said: "We have received complaints regarding the content of a website which we are investigating.
"As it is subject to an ongoing police inquiry it would be inappropriate to comment further."
In January, the local authority did give the green light for a third stand to be built, which will seat about 2,000 fans, thanks to a £2m pledge from Schuh founder and Falkirk supporter Sandy Alexander.
Councillor Malcolm Nicol, who is among those targeted by the site, said he could not afford to be complacent about the threats.
He said: "Falkirk Football Club is a private company. There's got to be a limit on the assistance that it receives from the public purse.
"I think people understand this but there seems to be minority who don't.
"These remarks have been written by a few hotheads but when people put death threats onto a website you have to be careful that it doesn't reach the wrong person.
"Some of my colleagues have been interviewed by police about these threats and given personal protection advice."
The Westfield stadium and its surrounding 42 acres is owned and managed by the Falkirk Community Stadium Ltd, a joint venture company involving Falkirk Football Club and Falkirk Council.

Rangers fans were fighting each other last night. Went through the city centre this morning and saw all the typical........ fans walking about with cans of carling, fans still wearing their replica shirts as if to say 'hey everyone look at me, i'm a rangers fan, i came to Manchester because rangers were playing here, i want you to clap me' and the odd Scottish tramp, filthy bastards.

Also day tripping rangers and zenit fans were having tours of old trafford speaks volumes.

Btw on the news last night one rangers fan said 'Manchester cant hold a final, cant even hold a football match'

Alright
Douglas Boyd or wetf your name is, course not, just one of the greatest clubs on the planet was 10 minutes away from where you said it, a club steeped in history, a famous ground that has held some unique and unreal games. A club that dwarfs your poxy little shite side in every way.

My one and only post in the thread...

I was in Manchester last night, and I saw a small minority of idiots, pissed up and fighting with each other. Yup, some 'fans' have let the side down, but it is getting blown out of all proportion is this.

42 arrests...? Thats nowt. I bet you at your average Manchester derby they top that.

The main trouble I saw was between rival groups of Rangers fans, fighting with each other after the match.

I would like to take this time to say that I think Manchester council TOTALLY underestinated the number of Gers fans there. The 100,000 number is being banded around - double that and then add the rest I say. I barely saw a copper all night, I swear down. And the ones I did see were almost always in their panda cars or directing fcuking traffic.

The state of the city centre was a disgrace aswell, no bins anywhere, so rubbish all over the place...

I HATE the fact that a tiny minority of 'fans' have let Rangers FC down. I can see us getting dragged over the coals for this, but I guess it was always going to happen with 200,000 invading a city.

The atmosphere in the stadium was excellent, a majority of Gers fans stayed and applauded the Zenit team getting their medals, and the Zenit squad even gave us a guard of honour. Their fans were quality, had some cracking chants going.

Saying that, I saw at least 10 Zenit fans fighting with each other too, and they all got lifted... Where is that in the newspaper reports...? This happened right outside Eastland about an hour before the match.

The thing that has pissed me off the most about this is the fcuking Celtic fans jumping on the media bandwagon... The greatest fans in the world... I suppose they would have bought about 2,000,000 and not had a single arrest, packed up all their rubbish to take home and went in for an early night.... Bollocks, don't give me that shit. It is a simple matter of percentages... In a group of 200,000, no matter if you are a Celtic/Rangers/Man Utd/Newcastle fan, you will ALWAYS get a small minority of idiots desperate for a scrap.

All in all, I had a cracking evening, the result was dissapointing, but my team did me proud.

Don't bother trying to pull this post apart any Celtic fans out there, as you won't get a response.

Didn't a Celtic fan run on the pitch and attack a player fairly recently?? Or am I mistaken?

I seem to remember some coin throwin incidents and a referee with blood all over his face, Dallas wasnt it?

Good fans, but definately not perfect...

Greatest fans singing about IRA atrocities, yeah fcuking rock on . No time for filth like that. Sure, that may of been sometime ago but it still sticks in my head. Both sides aren't perfect by any means and the response here by many Celtic 'fans' is pathetic. It's as if you wanted it to happen and now you've got what you craved, bad publicity for Rangers.

Well this wasnt Copenhagen was it when the Turks & Arsenal had a carve up, or anything like what was seen in the 80's so i think this is blown up a bit, from what i've seen, which again is nothing new... Every club has followers that like a tear up & Celtic are no different to any other club in that respect

Why are some people saying its been blow out of proportion, who's blown it out of proportion ? no one has, its been brushed up the carpet. If it had been United or Liverpool you'd be saying it was blown out of proportion.
