It was a poor pass, in my eyes, it gave total disrespect to the opposition as it was as if he thought they cant score whatever i do with this ball.

I can see the Arsenal boys dont like him, but that goes back to the transfer to chelsea, the fans dont like him as there are probably a number of Arsenal fans booing, Spurs fans booing & generally people that think he is cnut for what he did to his partner.

Whether he deserves to be dropped or not, i cannot coment on as replacements such as Nicky Shorey are simply not good enough yet.

It has to be conceivable that the fans reaction to him would impact his performance and state of mind? Once that happens it is having an impact on the teams prospects - it's just a question of degree, whether that impacts the final score today and if it does whether that impacts the team as a whole

Bridge could do a job IMHO.

I rate Cole, he's a good player, love him or loathe him. On merit he deserves his spot. Trouble is he's such an unutterable cnut.

BTW, anyone watching X Factor? Whatever does the loooovely Mrs. Cole see in him? I think I'm in love.

To be fair i'd drop him for anyone, the thought of Ashley Cole lifting a trophy makes me feel sick to be honest, almost so much it would ruin England winning a tournament.

Shorey or Barry would be fine. Think Bridge's international career ended along with Micah Richards's when they were the full backs agasint Croatia last year.

Well Kermit's American so I cant envisage him giving it 100% every game. Unfortunately I think Cuntley is the best we've got. Barry is a midfielder, Lescott's a centre back, Bridge has looked out of his depth at International level so far and there is no way Shorey is better than Cole. I cant even think of any good youngsters coming through in the left back position

Its a sham marriage - she was branded a racist a few years back and he was branded gay. So it suits both of them to get married to each other doesnt it?

Thats probably bollox but it makes me feel better

You watch X factor ? Thought'd it'd be a bit down market for your tastes

Whilst he's a cnut, you don't have a better left back so deal with it.

If you are going to drop him, Phil Neville would be worth a shot

Cheryl is fit though

I used to watch Engeeerland home and away from 92 in Sweden, 96, all the games in France 98 (i was behind the goal that Owen scored in surrounded by Argies ) Holland in 2000 , etc etc etc bla bla bla.

In recent years they have got rid of yobbos like me and replaced us with the prawn sandwich brigade. I never have and never will boo a player wearing an England shirt no matter how bad the game is going.

Cole maybe a knob but the bigger knobs today were the cnuts booing him from the stands. I'm just glad I wasn't there or I may have been forced to come out of retirement.

This poster takes the same stance as PaulM did on the previos page - an interesting read

Quote:
For the managers, commentators, journalists, etc who condemn booing fans:

Listen up. There is a large section of the football-loving public that has a problem with the way football is being run. They feel that their game is under attack from all angles. Players are surrounded by media hubris that leads us to expect so much from them. They are paid more money in a week than some people earn in 5 years but we can't quite justify what good they do for that. Moves are afoot to further remove the game from the british fans (the 39th game) and some people have had nearly enough.

In the past many people (me included) have barracked these people and told them to vote with their feet: stop going to matches. However, I recognise that it is not that simple. These people love their club / national side. There is a profound tension between these two sets of emotions, and it causes genuine (without wishing to exaggerate or to neglect the greater problems experienced by people the world over) suffering.

These people have no voice like those in the media or who have regular access to the media. If a journalist has an opinion they can tell millions. If a manager thinks such-and-such they can use the media to tell millions. If a real fan thinks something they can tell their mates, and that's it.
Moreover many of these people aren't very articulate. They might not be able to put their finger on exactly what is wrong with it all. So when Ashley Cole messes up and allows a goal against England some boo him. Not because he made an elementary mistake, though, but because he is rightly a symbol for the greed and hubris that is, in their eyes, ruining football. The mistake is merely a catalyst.

So to anyone who has a voice who condemns these fans- be careful. You are trying to deny what tiny little say these people have. Without being able to express their dissatisfaction you might just finally alienate them for good. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

That's all, sorry for the uber-long post. I just had to get that off my chest.

I can't agree with that.

If you think that the game is being taken away from you or you don't like the 39th game idea, then protest about it. A protest before the England game, or even during it, would get the fans voices in the papers easily.

If you don't like Ashley Cole then boo him from the start - have the courage of your convictions. Don't wait until he makes a mistake and then start booing him: that's the cowards way out.
