According to Busst himself, his career wasn't ended by the broken leg but by a post-op MRSA infection of the wound.

Yeh Luton have a player who's career has ended thanks to getting an MRSA infection while he was having an operation. As I said earlier in the thread, Eduardo comes back to the level he was at because I always enjoyed watching him.

Whoopie do you freeze a picture seconds after the incident and Taylor has a smile on his face. He hardly meant it and as his manager has said he is distraught about it. Wenger spoke under a lot of emotion and later retracted the bollocks he said about Taylor. I think you need to do the same.

Onme of the worst tackles in recent seasons was by Diaby, if ever a guy desreved a long term ban it was him, Taylors challenge is not a scratch on his. But then I doubt tht matters eh?

I feel very sorry for Eduardo. The tackle was brutal and very unfortunate.
Minus yesterday - he had just 3 bookings in 77 starts and 8 sub appearances - you'd be hard challenged to find a centre half with a record better than that. I would be inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt, just.

Given the sentiment regarding Taylor, I wonder how people weigh this up against what Roy Keane did?

He admitted a pre-meditated 'challenge', which effectively ended Haaland's career in the Prem.

I don't think the Taylor challenge is close to this in terms of intent.
A six-game ban would be appropriate, IMO as the tackle was just as bad as the one on the Celtic player last year.

Can I just make clear that I'm not saying Taylor went in to deliberately break Eduardo's leg, he would have to be pretty twisted to do that - that doesnt make it any less of an awful tackle though.

Gerrard went through a speight of BAD 2 footed tackles and could easily have ended someones career....

Roy Keane is no angel and has made his fair share of horror tackles too..

I know we all defend our players to the hilt but it's hard for me to say Taylor mean't that tackle and I've watched it a few times... Clumsy YES.. dangerous YES intentional NO...

Fair point AK, but I disagree about the intent.

Thinking back to Schmeichel and Wright, I'm pretty sure that they had comings together and that there were a series of challenges where one tried to do the other, although Wright had the final say with 'that' awful tackle. Also, with Roy Keane on Alf Inge Haaland there was obvious intent there and it was no real surprise when he admitted it in his book.

I'm glad to say that I've never seriously hurt any player in my time and I know I've fouled plenty. Sometimes when I 'had to' and others when I was unlucky.

In all honesty I know hand on heart that there but for the grace of God go I, and I could easily have been involved in the same kind of incident as yesterday, on either side of the ball.

Just a point on Gallas before I retire for the night, a lot of Arsenal fans had serious reservations about him being made captian in the summer and what he did yesterday kind of reinforces any concerns.

If you remember, he spent most of the summer moaning about the state of the squad, how it wasnt good enough and how he didnt sign for Arsenal to compete for 4th place. Come mid-season, we are top of the league and he's happy as larry.

He seems like a guy who is all smiles and nice comments when things are going well but when things take a turn for the worse he throws his toys out the pram - not what you want from you club captain.

Can you imagine Tony Adams behaving like Gallas did yesterday???
