Default Accrington defeat under scrutiny

Accrington's 2-0 defeat by Bury on Saturday will be looked at by the Football Association amid allegations of unusual betting on the game.
Some bookmakers stopped taking bets on the League Two match on Friday after a high number of bets on Bury to win.
FA director of communications Adrian Bevington said: "We will look very closely at the information the bookmakers provide.
"We'll take any subsequent action with the Football League and the two clubs."
Accrington chief executive Rob Heys responded by saying the club would "co-operate fully" with any investigation.
""We will speak to the relevant bodies at the FA and we will co-operate fully with any investigation, should one take place," he said.
"If there is any evidence of any wrongdoing, the people involved will be severely dealt with."
Andy Bishop scored both goals as the visitors won Saturday's clash 2-0, and Stanley boss John Coleman refuted allegations that some of his players had been out on a stag party the night before the game.
After the loss, he said: "It's rubbish. There were rumours flying around about a stag do but it is not true.
"We gave our very best for 90 minutes." Bury are thought to be seeking legal advice on the issue before making any comment.

Accrington v Bury - 2/1 bet365

This isnt one of my selections, however ive received a text from someone who is usually reliable this morning saying that accrington are, ALLEDGEDLY of course, throwing this game. Shoot me down in flames if you like, but im just the messenger. The lad who sent me this text was also the one who first notified me (when the odds were still good) of the sligo rovers fixed game in ireland last season so ive got no reason not to beleive him.
It might be a load of cobblers, but i have taken some of the 2/1 on offer and he reckons lump on while you can as it will get backed down. Im not putting my house on it, but its worth a bet imo. Ive also gone for bury ht/ft at 9/2 with the same firm because you'd think if the game was fixed they'd be winning at half time wouldnt you? Or you could go for the safer option draw no bet at 6/5. As i say this is only me passing the message on just what i heard, but if youre going to follow, do it asap.

I'm not ashamed to say I lumped on!
It won't be the first time suspicious betting patterns on games crop up and some don't come in BUT great when they do

Read this in the News of the World. They were insinuating that Bury players were also involved.

Grim stuff for the reputation of English football worldwide as being on-the-up, and that this kind of thing will be tolerated as long as it doesn't involve a Premier League or a Championship side.

I suppose the caution should be "Buyer beware!". In hindsight it was a match of little merit as both were in mid-table so what you thought would only happen in Italian football, etc.

It'll be fascinating to see if the FA can be bothered to investigate as well as know what the punishment to Accrington Stanley and Bury might be.

Betfair aren't bothered.

I have heard that Paddy Power have not settled any bets on the match...

There again Stanley have been useless at home and Coleman had been slagging his players off ,again, the week before.Bury had steady away form and i'm actually amazed they were that price to start off with.
Though driving through Accy today there were a hell of a lot of people at the BMW garage
