Find this staggering...... looks like Sony have got the PS3 badly badly wrong - overpriced and overspec'd for the average home user - if it wont shift in Japan, cant see it shifting elsewhere.....

Would be interested in how the PS3 v XBox 360 stats compare (the comparison in this article is meaningless as the machines are at diffent stages in their product cycles...)

Doesn't surprise me really, it looks like Nintendo got their market research spot on. When you talk to people in the 20-30 age bracket (i.e. the people with the disposable cash) the games they hark back to are the 80s/early 90s games that weren't a great deal to look at but had superb playability to make up for it.

I think the PS3 will come good, it's better spec'd and a better longer term investment.

Sales will rocket once it's hacked and a killer title like GTAIV comes out.

I intend to buy a PS3 at some point towards Xmas
