Website Design Software Needed

Guys

I am going to buy a (cheap) readymade website to replace my company site.

Problem is most of them need either photoshop cs, dreamweaver or swish to edit them.

I've used MS Frontpage in the past....will this do the job (and if it will can I get a new copy anywhere - genuinely lost my disc).

This is the site I am thinking of getting the template from http://www.value-web-templates.co.uk

Anybody any opinions or other recommendations.

I just want to buy the readymade website, edit it to suit and then upload it, replacing my existing website.

Can anyone tell me the easiest software to use for editing (I guessed it would be Frontpage but haven't got a clue really).

I use Dreamweaver, very very good and simple to use.

I got the full programme from Bearshare, Im sure someone can come along and give you a torrent link.....

Ok, go to the windows -> programs -> adobe and open it. Look to the folder "bonjour" and scan it. If you have a good virus scanner the program will tell you that bonjour is a trojan

No i haven't downloaded it, i did say not tested by me !

that´s true but the trojan of CS3 is known since the Software came out.

yes, Adobe is puting it into the latest version. They send some stuff to the "home base" when you installed it.if you delete the folder the program doesn´t work.

There are two ways to get it clean.

1.delete the folder in the safe mode - it should work after this move (not tested)
2.this way:

• Stop Bonjour service RUN > sc stop “bonjour service”
• Remove Bonjour services from windows startup RUN> sc delete “bonjour service”
• Disable the Bonjour socket driver:
  RUN > Regedit:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\WinSock2\
  Parameters\NameSpace_Catalog5\Catalog_Entries\0000 00000004 find key:
  Enabled=REG_DWORD:00000001 change it from 1 to 0.
• Reboot, the driver will not be loaded any more.
• Delete the Bonjour directory (with the files mDNSResponder.exe and mdnsNSP.dll).

only just seen this.

However, I have checked the path you stated and there is no 'bonjour' folder.

I scanned the download with AVG before opening and installing.

It seems to work fine, am I missing something.

If you need database driven website, you should think about one of Content Managament Systems (CMS) - they are usually free, with lot of free templates, pretty easy to set up and manage.

Joomla! is one of the most popular

There was no mention of problems in the forum about it, and it has been a working link for a couple of months there. My guess is that it is ok.

Yes that´s a good solution. Joomla for bigger projects but for small projects wordpress is working fine.

Another CMS are: Drupal and Typo3

Everything is freeware. Just download it and install it on your webserver in a direction you want. To test on your pc you need a local server like XAMPP

XAMPP - apache friends - xampp

Install Xampp and the local server with a phpmyadmin,php interpreter, mysql database and a emailclient is running. Put the sites you want into the "htdocs" folder and give in the adress of the local site into your browser.

example: http://localhost/yoursite.php

For the CM systems you need to open the index.php

example: http://localhost/wordpress/index.php

The index.php is lying in the htdocs -> wordpress folder

Hi you could just go to the microsoft website and download the microsoft visual web developer 2008 express edition which is free i think they have 5 or 6 programs that can be downloaded and used for free from here Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition just register the product and it yours at no cost.

Personal Preference : NetObjects Fusion Essentials.

Relatively easy to set up and use, free download and you can pay for add ons if you prefer. I find the in-built FTP publisher of great use and benefit.

Depends what you want though...
