Webcam Problem

I have bought a new laptop, Sony Vaio with a built in webcam.
When I logged into MSN the other week it worked like a dream, no problems there.
I have since got hold of a Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 and have installed it as instructed in the manual given.
It works fine on its own but now I can't get any camera to work with MSN!
I have disabled the one built into the laptop but still I can't get the Logitech one to work.

Any advice from the computer geeks and nerds loitering in the depths of PL here would be greatfully recieved and whoever sorts out my fault can have a weekends free accomodation in the USA, albeit in my house!

It sounds to me like MSN is looking for the built in webcam that you used 1st.

It could be you need to uninstall MSN then reload it and the new webcam will be picked up.





What weekend is was you thinking of???

Think I know this one;

You have installed the webcam, but not yet set it as your primary webcam on MSN?

Tools -> Audio & Video Setup -> Next x3 -> Select the webcam you want to use (Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000) -> Finish

Pretty sure that should work, you have to manually select the webcam to use on MSN, I think it will autodetect and set the 1st webcam installed, but will not set any new webcams installed since as primary unless told to do so.

Cheers guys, I'll give it a whirl in the morning.
I shall uninstall messenger and then try installing it again.
I did try to register for the Logitech forums but it was down at the time!
