Default Threatfire

I have Avast Anti-Virus
i have also had Threatfire by PC TOOLS
I have had these two programs plus other security software
on my PC for months - no problem

this last week i got an Avast Warning that it had found a Trojan
did i want to delete it or quarantine it or ignore.
I deleted the file
The file was in the Threatfire folder
After deleting the file i got the message that
threatfire would not run.

So i uninstalled threatfire
went on the PC TOOLs website and downloaded Threatfire
again ( free )
In the middle of the download Avast flashed up the Trojan
warning again.

Can't work this out. How come they have worked alongside each
other for months - no problem ?
Is this warning a false positive ?

anyone else running these two programs ?

your thoughts please

cheers guys
ralphie

Ive never heard of Threatfire before, but it is possible that an update of Avast is flagging what is called a False Positive .

In other words it is identifying part of Threatfire as a Trojan when it shouldn't be.

This type of thing happens quite a lot and is usually rectified with further updates.

Give Avast an E-Mail and see what they say.

EDIT: Sorry ralphie, i didn't see your mention of False Positive the first time i (speed) read your post, its what i think it is though.

Avast have sorted the problem
both programs are now working fine together.
