Slow Internet - The Punters Lounge

My internet is really slow this morning.

Could anyone please tell me how I go about checking what, if anything is wrong?

you could always try to clean out your PC,
I use CCleaner run that and re-boot.

Is it slow on some websites or all of them.
It depends on what sites your viewing, Im on 4MB broadband and some of the racing websites do slow down a bit at certain times.

Could be that the Storm of yesterday damaged some cables ...
[if you life in europe].

Otherwise you could also check defragmentation of your Mainboard.It´s also a reason for a slow PC.

You could try pinging the websites to see if they are experiencing problems. Under windows, click "Start", then type in "cmd" to bring up the command prompt. Then ping a website eg news.bbc.co.uk by typing in the command "ping news.bbc.co.uk" and pressing return.

It should tell you how long it took your computer to bounce a message to the website. 10-100 ms (milliseconds) is fine. My computer is on broadband (7MB/s) and pings bbc news in around 20 ms. It takes 100 ms to ping punterslounge.com, it really varies site to site.
