Problems with service pack 2

Trying to install service pack 2 ( original disc ).
Gets so far the i get an error message saying " an error occured while copying icwhelp.dll_ "

Then it wont load anymore and i have to delete it again.

Any help appreciated.

if no one can help you and its fcuked, then just load original XP then it will download and install service pack 2 with the automatic updates, thats what I did.

have you tried typing that file into google and downloading it from somewhere?

when I say original, I mean the first version which would probably be service pack 1 !!

Try cleaning the disk with some washing up liquid and give it a good buffing with a tissue winrew and try again.

Downloaded the dll file and when i try to open it,it says "open with "
Any idea what i use to open it.

nah dont open it winrew.

shite i thought it was giving you the option to go find the .dll. I wouldnt mess about with dll personally winrew but if all else fails you could try just placing it in your windows folder.

sounds to me like your disk is dirty though.
