Problem Playing Bittorrent Files-Codecs?

Hi. Have been trying bittorrent for the first time today, thanks for all the clear instructions on here btw. Easy. First file (Joey ep. 1014) has just finished downloading. Tried playing it on winamp mp and all that came up was blank screen, with the sound playing ok though. Then tried playing it on Windows Media Player and it tried downloading codecs? I don't know what codecs are but it showed an error in any case in downloading these from server and, similarly to winamp, would only play the sound element of the file. I know that the file is good and have had this problem before when I downloaded some sitcoms from winmx. When it happened before i just dewleted the files and didn't bother trying to do anything else with them. Is there a different media player that these will work on or do I need to download something (codec) else to be able to play the file? Any help much appreciated. Thx

This is a pretty good multi codec pack with most things in it, try installing this and see how you get on http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...Codec_Pack.htm
