Desktop web page thumbnails ???

how do i enable them???

when I create a shortcut in IE to the desktop, lets say for PL, we get the YELLOW BOX with V in it for V-bulletin (this also appears on the left of the web address in the browser as a small pic)

Now, My problem is that after switching off my PC and backing up last time, they have all disappeared and Im left with a desktop full of IE thumbnails which looks fairly monotonously boring and messy. Is there a way that I can get the thumbnails to stay on my desktop without reverting to the standard IE icons??

also - with some sites I can no longer get the icon on my shortcuts at all..
and again this MUST be something to do with clearing my cookies and turning off the PC

Its bound to be something simple but its bugging me

Have you cleared your temporary internet files?

Sounds like it could be the problem. I could be wrong, no doubt someone will correct me.
