Prevent Undelete Being Run On My Laptop

I have a works laptop with the Hard Drive split into 3 partitions (C:, D: & E

I have had personal documents stored on the D & E drives as well as work ones. I'm about to leave the company and have copied my personal documents off the laptop, but I want to ensure that Undelete software will not enable them to recover what I've removed.

Is the best way to move the works documents to a different location, format the partition, and then move them back, or, is there some software available which will help with this?

You want a file "Shredder", something like these free ones :

Formatting isn't enough BTW, they can still be recovered after a normal Format.

Try Secure Erase, supposed to be decent although I've no idea how good it is. NSA supposedly approve it if you believe the blurb

Thanks everyone. I've downloaded File Shredder and used that. I've selected the option to Shred Free Disk Space but it doesn't give me an option of which drive to select. It won't let me click next because I haven't selected a drive, so I'm confused as to how to tell it to shred the free disk space on drives D & E.

Anyone used this software who can tell me?

Just installed it on another PC and it lists the drives. Now to work out why it does not on my laptop....

Have installed Eraser instead and this appears to be working better than File Shredder.
