POP-UP's - HELP!!! - The Punters Lounge

Need some help lads,

I was downloading some stuff from Limewire last night and ever since i have been inundated with pop up ad's for ebay, dating services, amazon and numerous others.

It is seriously anoying me and is slowing down my computer. >: >:

Does anyone know what i have done to make these appear and more importantly how to get them to stop???????

Have you got your firewall enabled??
Have you tried running any adware detector such as search and destroy? This should indentify and remove them for you.

If not, try updating you Hosts file which can be downlaoded here - Host File

Extract it and whack it into one of these Dir's depending on what OS your using

Windows XP = C

WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Windows 2K = C

WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Win 98\ME = C
