p2p Networks - Is Edonkey the best? - The Punters Lounge

Ive been trying most of them lately in my goal to find a good un.

Ares keeps cutting off my internet connection. Shareaza was working but now i can connect to the emule network on it. DC is ok but i hate getting movies from just one user. I aint tried Limewire actually. Ill go give this a bash.

Ive heard Emule and Edonkey is the network to use for film. Anyone use it? Anyone wanna help me out a bit as i aint doing to well with it.

actually now i think of it. Does AOL offer access to newsgroups any one know? free i mean. Bt never but i know some isps do.

so far so good with limewire mind. Easy to use and getting fast speeds and no hellish queues like shareaza and Ares

Fraid not, BT does, but it's crap..

None - does not support NNTP News

AOL users need to sign up with a premium news service such as the ones listed in the News Server section

Cheers Ell. Seems they discontinued it early 2005. said it was ecause it was too old now. They mean its full of curruption etc

Right i need movies and i hate torrents. Im gonna sort out emule for edk2 links. get it here

I´m still using Ares, Komp but sometimes I get films that work fine when viewed on the pc but when I burn them to dvd the words don´t match the mouths. Is that something I´m doing, or is it a common problem?

Sounds like a prob in your converting Gaz. What proccessor you got? Also what you using to convert? I found Mainconcepts decoder the best.

Back on Ares. It is the fastest so far but prone to disconecting me. Got 80mb there in 12mins and so far so good

Sorry to be so thick but how do I find out what processor I have? Is that the Pentium thing 4 cpu 2.80ghz? As for converting, been using Nero

Aye that sounds ok Gaz. What you converting AVI to Mpeg to VOB? Mpeg to VOB?

Dunno, just avi to whatever it uses to create a dvd. All I do is click on create, then Add files, then it takes about 2 hrs to transcode, then about 20 mins to write to disc. Some work perfect, others have problems. Don´t know if thats common or if its me?
