Opera 9.5 Final

I don't think there are many Opera Web browser users on PL, but for the ones that do i would advise NOT to update to the latest version !

It has more bugs than my veg garden ffs

cheers mate I do have Opera but tbh I dont use it that much( maybe twice per week) but without reading this first I would have updated it the next time I used it.

I un-installed 9.5 after just half a days use, it was that bad

I went back to V9.27, from the list of older versions Here

And then i had problems as this version of Opera would load into memory but wouldn't show on the screen !





For anyone (Googled your way here) who has trouble going back from Opera version 9.5 final this is what i found.

I had to do a bit of windows debugging and found that this GOOD older version of Opera was now getting stuck in a loop at start up, and that is why it wasn't fully starting up.

I ran a free program called Filemon to see what Opera was doing when activated.

It turns out it was getting stuck in a loop opening an Opera Widgets file in :

C: \Documents and Settings\user account\Local Settings\Application Data\Opera


So i opened Task Manager and ended the broken Opera.exe process.
Then deleted the Opera folder in the above folder (must of been remains of 9.5 ?)

Ran Opera again and was back to a GOOD working version again
