Ohhhh pants!!!

Hey, I need some help

About 2 weeeks ago i got a popup from AVG AntiVirus mentioning that i had a generic2.dis trojan horse on my puter, i got this from clicking a link in MSN (though i shouldnt have done )...Anyway i deleted the relevant file and did a full system scan and all was well.

Anyway, Just got out of the shower moments ago and the bleeding thing is BACK AGAIN!!!!!!!....I dont get where its come from as i havent done anything dodgy, or downladed anything dodgy for a while!

Anybody know what the heck kind of a trojan this is, or how i can get rid of it for good?

PS - Ive done a full system scan and its clean, but it was clean last week when i did one too so i dunno

There seems to be a few variations of "generic?.???" virus, which you get from clicking on what you think is a Picture file in MSN (but its a windows executable file, ",pif" file usually)

I would download HijackThis (its free) from :

And after scanning your pc with Hijackthis, you post the log in the support forum

If you haven't clicked any picture links in msn (or other links) since you rid your self of it, i wonder if you have used system restore since you had this Trojan ?

Cheers matey, will get on that right away. The link i clicked on was from a friend who id trust so i thought nothing of it...Havent these people got anything better to do than write this kinda junk.

Have posted my log on that site...just waiting to see if i get a response. There doesnt seem to be alot on there that concerns me though, all the names and such look familiar
