The password to your e-mail account should be the same as the one that Sky BB uses to access the internet for you.

(I think)

next question..................

bloody computers

After getting back from France last night fire up the PC ready to catch up on PL

The desktop would connect to the internet but was really really slow, was waiting 3-4 minutes for a page to load. Tried resetting the sky wireless box etc but nothing helped. The desktop was slow for a few days before going away and also had a little icon pop up in the bottom right hand corner saying system resources were low (PC is only 6 months old!)

Switched on the laptop and that worked ok and at broadband speed but only today I have noticed that its not connecting through the usual sky wireless box but a "belkin" connection WTF

All day have only had the laptop to use as still cannot get internet on desktop. Spent an hour on the phone to Dell customer support to no avail and Sky techie help are just as bad.

Any idea's or suggestions please............

Maybe you're leeching off someone elses connection You might have to set your sky connection to default. I'm not at home for a couple of weeks and I can't remember how to do it off the top of my head so I can't be much more help than that.
I think if you right click the little wireless icon at the opposite side of the task bar to the windows 'start' button that brings up a menu where you can have a look at the available wireless connections. You should be able to connect to the one you want that way.

One of the girls at work has just bought a laptop, apparently now you do not get word or excel as standard and she was told by shop (PC World) that it would cost £80 each for them !

Now mine and hers computer knowledge will probably fit onto the back of a fag packet any suggestions ?

next question..........

when we bought this Dell pc it came with a movie player called "nero" but now its saying that the trial period has expired. Bloody annoying when trying to open emails/films etc.

Can i just switch to windows media player (which i do have) as a default movie player and if so how do i set it up without going to add/remove programs and deleting nero ?

cheers

I didn't even know that nero was a media player I thought it was just for burning CD/DVD!!

If you open Windows Media Player, then it should prompt you asking if you want to make it the default media player .... cant see any reason why you shouldn't....

If you want to watch downloaded films (without worrying about downlaoding CODECs), then get yourself a copy of VLC Media Player and use that - it's a free download

To make Windows Media Player your default media player, follow these steps:
1.In Windows Media Player, click Tools, and then click Options.
2.On the Formats tab, under Available File Formats, click Select All to select all of the file formats listed (or you can click to select each individual check box).
3.Click Apply, and then click OK.

...that's from the Microsoft help... And it will work unless you're using Vista
