No mate, sorry. It says 80 mins CD for a reason. Some people seem to think they can get about 3 hours on a CD if they compress down small enough, unfortunately it don't work like that..

I don't get it?
1 hour + 15 minutes = 75 minutes
and 75<80.
So, you should be able to burn it without any problems and without any compression needed.

i used to have an old version of nero that would allow you to burn into the "restricted" zone if the software thought you were putting too much data onto the CD to hold. There must be some software out there that give you the option of continuing the burn without restricting you because it "might" be more data than the cd can take.

No idea what version of nero it was, but i'll have a look for something similar.

Stopped using Nero ages ago, but im sure all versions do it. It's called overburning. You can also get 99 min CD-Rs which should play on most CD players.

This is only for movies, no?

I've never been able to burn more minutes onto an audio CD than was specified on it. With movies however you can reduce the quality to make it fit.

The software came with my laptop, think it's called SONIC DVD/LE? Full version allows you to "fit to disc" with regards burning dvd's. ie. You can fit the whole movie onto the DVD with the highest possible quality allowed for the size of it. Quite impressiveif if anyone wants to go looking for it.

No talking about more minutes. If the CD says it can burn 80 min, but won't even accept 75, I think some software decides that there should be a safety margin so that no data is lost if you are too near the edge of the disc.

Good to know that movies are squishable though.
