Well if you want be back with my idle ramblings you better get your fingers out and help me PLEASE Be you best friend slave for life etc.... Anyhow ive got this problem when i'm trying to reinstal XP. www.lecour.net/richard/ar...00050.html Ive reformatted my HD so i i am unable to do the copy thingy the person mentions. Im also trying to get a karaoke list together for tonight (you about MrJt?) and am running out of time. Usually i get stressed out at times like these and end up fighting in the pub (i've been up all night trying to reinstall an operating system) - wish i still had your mobby number Slick So if anyone could tell me my best way forward then i would appreciate it. Also..... The fella that i got a copy of XP off of asked me if i knew anything about X-Box consols. I was in company of my lady so tried to show off a bit but had no idea what i was talking about. I thought as a favour to the fella i would ask the GC mob. His XBox is new (xmas past) and when he tries to import songs into the hard drive so as he can play them over the top of games he is playing (Tony Hawks). He has no probs with original Audio disks but cant make a playlist out of copied cd-r's. Anyone got any idea's? Thanks chaps.

oops i didnt see that link, it'll take me ages to read that but i have noticed you have installed some ram. This can cause numerous problems reading disks as i have found in the past. Its better to install the xp with just the original ram in then install the extra after xp is up and running.

I aint at my comp MrJt as its at my house and not working due to having no operating system thus i have no access to the files MrJt. I wouldnt know how to access it either truth be told. My problem is EXACTLY like the prob on the first paragraph of the thread and the missing files are the same etc. Tried all the boot thingy Slick as per Gett1n on another thread and managed to delete the old partition and create a new one for the XP instal. The prob of the above happens when it gets to the XP instal screen ie the 3rd part of the process (39 min to instal etc). The RAM is the same ram as it used to have just needed reseated to enable the system to pick it up again so i cant see it being too much of a prob as i aint changed the bios etc barr the boot sequence. Is there a place where i can just download the missing files? Tell you what, i have time to dload a whole new XP disk if you think it will help. Ive seen them dotted about the place and if anyone thinks it will help then a link would be appreciated. Ive booked tomorrow off from everyone and just wanna sit on here and play COD etc so all help appreciated. I'm doing about 50 new karaoke disks at the mo and their all jumbled up so i have to go through each disc manually and write the order down so i am up against time there so again all help appreciated. JCAPLE - Use Alcohol120 for copying CDG. Peice of piss, just change data type and write at no more than x12. Punter66 - Fcuk ive lost your song list but i'll find the link to the thread and get it sent on Sat morning if my comp is back up and running tomorrow. Cheers chaps

From what i can see if nothing has changed in your PC then you will need another disc it does sound like that one is corrupt have not got a windows ME or 98 CD that you could use at the moment? also have you tried cleaning the disc a small bit of dust or a finger mark can stop it from reading give it a qipe with a very soft cloth jt ![]()
