Default Mobile phone

Ok am putting up my list of requirements for a mobile as my present contract is just about up and I want to walk in the shop and demand a new phone in order to renew.

Thing is I dont know what to ask for.

I want to have tv on it i.e. local channels, not subscribe to a service.
I want to be able to download films/podcasts to watch later e.g. bbc breakfast news.
Bluetooth? not sure if I need it.
Camera? not sure if I need it?
Internet access for sure.

Any suggestions?

Have you thought about one of these, I think it's called the Tango Castanet:

There's a 4 Megapixel screen in the base and it comes with a free extension cord and carry case.

Our eldest has the W850i

It is absolutely fantastic - only downside is that he listens to the mp3 on it constantly ( didnt want an ipod as this does the trick ) and has to recharge every day.

It says you can download video clips, does that mean only a few mins?

Thats one of the main reasons i wanted to get it for myself, the mp3 walkman feature. Rather than buying an ipod this would just be easy. The amount of functions they have are amazing.

That comment about the battery life worries me a bit though

Must be a Sony thing with the phones atm, I have the K800i, and the battery is bloody awful.

Excellant camera on it, but if yu give it a bit of use you'll need to recharge at the end of the day

Ive got a Samsung E730 at the moment and while its a good phone, the battery life is absolutely terrible. At the moment i recharge it every second day and half the time ive barely used it, its one of the main reasons i wanted to upgrade to the w850i, that and the fact it has the mp3 player. If its true the w850i has poor battery life then i better keep looking.

Does anyone else have a w850i and whats your thoughts about them?

Been doing quite a bit of research at work today about phones, alot of the reviews of the w850i that i have read suggest that the battery life for this phone is quite good, better than average actually. It also has FM Radio whereas the w880i doesnt.

Infact i just bought one off ebay so should get it in a few days. Will let you know what i think of it Gaza, but it sounds like the kind of phoen your after mate
