Missing Pound Sign - The Punters Lounge

My keyboard has gone American (I think)

pound is #

at is "

etc etc

I seem to remember I had this problem a while back and somehow my regional settings had defaulted to USA and I re-applied UK settings.

When I look there it is still UK I have tried re-applying, also tried switching it USA and then back to UK but I still have the same keyboard settings.

It has been suggested I have a virus but my checks are revealing nothing.

Anyone got any ideas please?
