Messenger font colour problem - The Punters Lounge

I'm on my brothers PC and his msn live messenger doesn't have any colour to the fonts.

It shows up as whatever colour you choose on other peoples machines but its all just black and white on his.

Any ideas? I've tried googling and going through msn settings but with no luck.
