Help -webcam problems

Can anyone help with simple instructions. i bout a webcam last week and cannot get it to work for love nor money.

I have installed everything that cam with it and plugged the cam in but it keeps giving me 'no video capture hardware'.

I unistall and reinstall with no joy. Can anyone help please?

One other thing - when I reboot the damn computer it gives me a rndll message how do I get rid or it?

with regards to your RNDLL problem it sounds like spyware.

You have the WildTangent online gaming plugin, which collects info about your computer and delivers ads to you while you play.

got that from google.

How to Remove WildTangent?

In order to uninstall, please follow these steps:

1. Go to START > Settings > Control Panel
2. Double click Add/Remove Programs, Select WildTangent , Click uninstall or add/remove, follow the on screen instructions.
3. Open the registry editor (Click Start > Run, type regedit). Locate the following key:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
   In the right pane, find and delete the following entries ( if they exists):
   
   wcmdmgr
   wt gamechannel
   ddcm
   
   Close registry editor.
4. Restart your computer.
5. Open your Window directory ( for example: cwindows), then open the wt foler, delete all the files in it.

Webcams are a funny thing where once you get them working they work for ever but they can proove difficult at first. I had a few hitches with mine but once its sorted it right forever.

Hi sosrry I did not get back to you as had problems with computer. rundll seems ok now thanks.

My web cam is Trust wb-1400t , I have tried downloading software from their website as well and nothing is working.

Have you tried plugging it into a different USB port?


Is the computer 'finding new hardware'?

Right click My Computer --> Properties --> Harware-->Device Manager.

You should see your webcam in there and if theres a problem with it it willshow you a yellow ! icon.

You could try to delete that and let the PC find is again on re-boot

have tried it in all the ports - tried again to reinstall it and i get a message saying that it failed to initalize??????

Can I ask, have you got Windows Vista?

I have and I can't my my webcam built into my laptop to work with MSN or the stand alone one either and for me it has to Vista as no one I know can understand why I am having those problems!

have you checked that the webcam is compatible with your operating system? also, check the drivers that you are using are for your specific operating system.
