Default help setting up wireless

Ok Guys Bear with me while I explain what i need and what i have, Thanks

Right I have Netgear DG834PN router and I also use the WPN111 USB Stick.

The router runs my Laptop without out a USB stick, It also ran my daughters Laptop without a USB Stick, My Lad upstairs uses the USB Stick.

The reason I say ran my daughters is because it got dropped and screen got cracked, So today I have got her another laptop, It connects up using the Ethernet cable from the router to the laptop, But I want to make it work without the cable and without the USB Stick like her other laptop.

How would i do this please.

An Idiots guide would suffice

cheers in advance

Also its windows Vista and her other one was just windows xp which mine is also

Is the laptop wireless?

if it is it should just pick up the signal.
If it does but cant connect to the net then you need to enter the password (ie WEP) password into the laptop to access the net.

sometimes theres a little wi-fi switch on laptops that you need to turn on, check the manual for the location of it.

All sorted now guys,

Same sort of thing as BA said, I got in touch with the tech guys and all I had to do was hold down the FN key and then hit the F10 key, and away we go
