I think I'm 30-35%

But I haven't been doing a lot else - tends to be mission after mission - I get bored without something specific to do

I am up to 31% and have done some very cool missions and the plot gets better

Just been reading over the last few comments Nade, I don't find this at all, yes the first missions are pish easy but wait till you get further in. also what were you expecting, its the formula for all GTA's

its like COD all you do is run around shooting people, every game has its formula, stick with it am sure the missions will get better for you.

Am still loving it
got loads of feckers on my mobile so missions selectiion is cool

Hey guys.

I am desperate to get this game having been addicted to San Andreas for many a day.

I need to fork out £300 for a PS3 though which I haven't got yet. Basically im buying it for this one game as no other game has interested me at all in recent years.

I heard the XBOX 360 is just as good but then again, some people seem to think the PS3 graphics are far better.

XBox 360 is £140 cheaper so if there is no difference I will be buying that.

Do any of you know if there is actually any difference between the two consoles???

I cannot comment on the difference between the two versions as I havent played PS3 (though suspect the differences are pretty insignificant) - I understand that there are freezing issues on both 360 and PS3 though (I haven't experienced it on my 360) - they're working on a patch for it....

Remember that there is exclusive downloadable content coming for XBox 360 - Microsoft have paid US$50m for this, so expect it to be substantial (talk is that it may be of the scale of San Andreas) - due to be starting release of first episode in August 2008

Getting hold of this game is like getting hold of rocking horse shit. Been to GAME (several), Zavvi, rang 3 Tesco stores, 2 ASDA's, all out of stock. Zavvi got 5 on each format other day after initial rush and sold out straight away. They also have no idea when the next batch are due in and Play.com have also sold out. By the time I get my hands on a copy you'll have all finished it and moved onto GTA5.

Onto the next island now, looks very nice.

Missions definitely improved towards dawn of the next island. Two favourites were the sniper mission (always my favourite missions) and the one where you have to chase the gang members in the car because it was fun shooting the crap out of them at high speed!

Sorted out my sound issue too, put the wires into the back of the TV instead of the front, which has made it slightly louder.

I'm at 17%, and the game is starting to bloom. Missions getting more interesting. One problem I do have is a lack of money, some of the missions require a large amount of ammo and armour which is wiping me out.

Having to run a lot of drugs and drive taxis, just to pay for bullets.

Was on the street in the bronx (boham) last night and a fat black woman bumped into me in the street, so I kep bumping into her again and again and again, she finally feaked out and ran, I chased her for 3 blocks before aiming a perfect pistol shot to her right ankle, to bring her down. She crawled into an alleyway, I followed, and stood over her, as she pleaded I careful popped a bullet into her other ankle, both knees and wrists. Taunted her with the baseball bat for a while, before delivering the old coup de grace execution style straight between the eyes, and stole $12 from her. For some reason this event really pissed off my wife who was watching me play

AJ. Those moments and things you can do like that are what set GTA apart from the rest - love it !.

Saw a weird thing yesterday, driving at v high speed through the streets crashed head on into a car - the driver got out of his car - and dropped dead .

Have to say the police **** me off so much! When i get minted at some point i'm going to buy a full army arsenal of weapons and attempt to kill every officer on every island It's like before one mission i attempt to catch a taxi to the destination - as usual Nico goes for the driver door I didn't even open the door when the flashing lights are on me! i nick another car to get away and in doing so run over another cop. So from minding my own business trying to go to a mission within a minute i'm on 3* wanted level!!

I think the civillians are starting to become a headache too and I'm starting to think there is one underlaying law with the game. Firstly, with the civillians, they're starting to attack first without being provoked! Not just the bit where you walk in to them but I was in one of the Internet places and the guy went crazy!! Started attacking me, so of course I just pulled out a gun and gunned him down but that drew Police attention and so I had to escape that too! Which I don't mind for but still, wasn't really what was needed at that stage of the game.

Secondly I stole someone's car, when I got out, I think they must have got back in as a few moments later I was run over by the car!! Now that one maybe I deserved but I was suprised that they did that! Literally they turned out of nowhere and just flattened me!

Lastly the flaw is that I think the other cars tend to follow a set route. Which is great except for the fact that cars keep cutting you up and taking decisions which would not happen in reality. Seems that if you speed up the inside of another car, if they are turning left, they will turn left irrespective of you, which I doubt holds any value in reality.

I'm over 30% through now and on the Call and Collect mission, think it will be straightforward enough!

I'm suprised that nobody mentions that the GTA developers have nicked ideas and touches from Saints Row and Scarface games. Anyway, the dialogue is good.

One of my favourite moments was early on in the game, and unexpected. I was getting chased - or doing the chasing - when i was bombing it down the road and couldn't pull the brakes on time. I went flying into a petrol station, causing a massive and unexpected explosion.

I also enjoyed gunning down a wee Russian. I had two of Dwaynes goons in the back, and we all started opening fire on the guys car. God knows how many bullets hit his motor.

I remember nicking a white care for Vlad i think it was. I shot the guys standing beside the white car, and blood was all over it. I had to take it to a car wash !!

I'm now at a stage where the plot is opening up more (about 35%). I'm not rushing it though.

So now we're well into the game hows everybody finding it?

I can see from the posts that it took time to grow on everyone but it seems to be a hit, now that the plot and missions are getting better/harder. On this note, has anyone failed a mission more than once?

There are two that stick in my mind and took me three goes at least, and am currently on one at the mo that have failed three times and am still trying to complete it ( get abit further each time)

As i have said before am loving this game, the plot is great and gets better as the game goes on (am on 37% near 38%).

so much to tell but i don't want to spoil it for anyone

Almost forgot, onlne is fecken superb, if u aint done it do it, Cops and Crooks is cool and Teamdeath match is a good laugh, driving round with 4 in th car shooting up the place. Its good aswell as being in a car dont mean ur safe, if u aim right u can shoot the driver b4 the cars gets near u

Im about 25% through it now, first impressions were a bit disapointted but now its starting to pick up its getting good.

All I can say is thank fook for the taxi's, saves ages drivng from one location to another. There seems to be shit loads of missions to do and little side missions to do eg keeping everyone happy. BTW yes I did shag Michelle on the first date get in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Graphics sometimes are awesome, sometimes they are glichy but I guess Im spoilt with COD eye candy.

Id like to put in a few hours in one go on this as Im jst grabbing 30-60 mins at a time but Im looking forward to see how the story unfolds.

After the first 4 hours game play I nearly deleted it all and started again to really have a good drive around and see if theres any easter eggs in the game or just blow ppl away, I might still do yet.

Played a couple of missions on the next island and it is turning into a truely stunning game .

Driving through the main city at night, or even in a cab it looks totally amazing and the missions have been wiked on there so far.

Also just purchased a shiny new suit from one of those posh shops (love the gay assistant) with a pink tie and everything! When coming out of the shop i naturally pick a fight with the security guard (dead ringer for barry white) but bottled it and ran away - straight into the amazing car showroom! hopped into the shiny red Turismo, flew through the window and went cruising through the streets in my new suit and sports car. Love it !

PS. How many flying rats have you killed? 1 for me ... and done 3 stunt jumps.

I failed the mission where you do the hit at the railway station three times before realising that it was simpler to go under the station and up on the opposite platform and simply machine gun him where he stood, as opposed to doing the chase over the tracks, down the stairs into the car etc etc....

You are all making me jealous. I really need to get this.

I just put SAN ANDREAS back on for 30mins, had a look through this thread and turned it off in disgust.
