Default FM 2007 - Network Game

Right, its now out.

There was mention of a network game being setup.

A few things need to be decided.

1) How many people are interested?

2) Of those interested, how much time is needed for them until we can start a game?? (eg. Im skint but will be buying it first thing payday(31st))

3) What startup will we use? Any team? All start in the same division?

4) Times. Everyone will have to agree with a time/times that we can all get on to play.

So lets hear it guys. Any other suggestions or things that need ironing out, feel free to add.

I might be tempted :P

Haven't played one of these games "properly" for a large number of years though - how do they work online? What time commitment would be needed to be made? How long does one game last?

1) Maybe

2) I'm currently downloading it (sorry m8 !!) - will see what it's like - if it seems like I'll get some use out of it, then I'll buy it (I presume only original versions will work on network games).

3) Makes sense to all be in the same division (or else we're not really playing against one another!!) I'd have quite a strong preference for English Premier League (as I imagine most would?)

4) Likewise could be reasonably flexible

Never played a network game myself either.Need someone with a good pc and strong connection to act as a host server.

Time commitment would be down to us. Maybe a few hours a night each wekk at the weekend . Some guidelines would need to be set. Upon starting I think 20 mins or so should be given to check your side, see what you got , what you need.

There is a "force continue" option. Once a certain amount of players have clicked continue a countdown clock will start(this can be set between 1 and 5 mins) . Once the countdown finishes the game continues regardless(unless picking your team for a match). This could be agreed on prehand.

The game has built in chat anyway so if others are waiting on one person they can let you know they'll only be one min etc.

EPL seems the most likely and popular decision. Depends on how many people are interested. As far as Im aware theres no limit to players in a online game, I may be wrong though.

Once we've got an idea of numbers the finer details can be sorted out. Just looking to find out how many, when we can start and when we can play first of all.

i'd be interested but think the times could cause problems - how much time would be needed each week?

(i have never played any game bar poker online so knowledge is low as usual)

Time would be down to us. The more time a week the faster the game would go obviously. Even if we only got a few matches in a week, it would be a side project to peoples other savegames.

Indeed.
We could have several games going in seperate leagues etc if people just want to concentrate on a specific country etc

Got the game and been on it all fookin day today. In fact, I forgot to post up my horses for today

Absolutely brilliant, started in Serie B at Juve (minus 17pts , but still the odds for the league came out.....I was 40/1 fook me, I'll have some of that 15 games in, 14 wins & 1 draw...now 3rd, only 4 points behind the leaders

Anyway, yes I'm in. I'm off on holiday from Tue until the following Tue but following that, I'm ok. Only prob like everyone says is timings.

I'd be in. Haven't got it yet, but can do any time. And I'm easy with teams as long as I can have Lincoln.

Definately.
I doubt it will take off myself, too hard to organise unless a few agree to an hour on a specific day etc.

Yeah - I think WFTE needs to say a time - if a few can make it, great, if not he can try again!!! The time is going to be critical !!!!!
