| Ive been using Firefox for a while now. And it is far better than Internet Explorer. In what way you ask?
Firefox imports your existing settings from Internet Explorer. An import wizard will run when you first install Firefox (and is also available later through the File menu, File > Import), and it imports your Favorites, options, cookies, stored passwords, and a variety of other data. This saves you time customizing Firefox to fit your needs.I would recommend to anyone that is having trouble with Internet Explorer. Download this and try it out. Visit the link below to Download it. http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ Please if you have any questions, with it i.e Install or themes etc post and i'll do my best ![]() Last edited by Mike; 29-11-2004 at 16:46. |

| I have been using it - but have noticed some differences on sites I use a lot. Microsoft sites appear different. On ebay for example, the text appears different and you dont gave the same options when putting something up for sale. You cant ammend text size, type and allignment when writing your ad. Is this a glitch with mozilla or a conscious decision to make people continue to use IE? Anyhow - mozilla is miles better IMO |

| Funkt unfortunately you find that some sites are desgined specifically for IE. Website desginers do not think that other browsers might be used. Its a shame as it does tend to put some people off. Have you decided ona theme? if you havent can i suggest this one https://update.mozilla.org/themes/mo...id=72&vid=1058 Superb ![]() |

| I would move to a different browser (tried Opera for a while) but the fact that sites mostly are designed for IE made me change back. It's catch 22, as sites are designed for IE because most people use IE ![]() |

| Komp, Unfortunately it seems PL is not 100% firefox ive had the same problem where i can't type i just click advanced bit of a pain, still working on seeing if i cn find a fix. I'll let you know ![]() The other way of pasting something is going to Edit then paste. It might be worth browsing this site https://update.mozilla.org/extensions/?application={ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384} I'll have a look later se if something might help us. The best part of Firefox is as it is open source (meaning the code is available to the public) that programmers can create there own extensions. Theres a good one for you tab fans out there i'll find it and post it ![]() |

| Do you know if anythings in the pipeline, or has already been done to integrate flashget with firefox in the same way it integrates with IE? It's really useful to be able to just right-click and choose 'download with flashget' or 'download all' from the menu. ![]() |

| Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up: 1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. 2. Alter the entries as follows: Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. 3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves. If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now! |
