Excel help/advice required - The Punters Lounge

Hi guys,
First of all thanks in advance for this, much appreciated.

Basically what I'm looking to implement into my spreadsheet is a query that if a minus number is input into one box, then it is added to the sum in another box.

However if it's not a minus number, it is taken away from the number in the other box.

I'm sure this is pretty simple equation, but I cant for the life of me fathom it out.

dont know exactly, but have you tried with IF logical statement?

I'm not very similar to the use of the IF command, and it currently stands at this---which doesnt work.

=IF(D7+E7-F$15, [+], [-])

The code without the IF, reads
=SUM(D7+E7-F$15)

A17 = +/- number.
B17 = number to add to or subtract from
=IF(A17<0,B17+A17,B17-A17)
