Corrupted file problem - The Punters Lounge

Needing some help here please guys.

My firefox bookmarks.html file has corrupted so that I cant move or delete it. This means when I access Firefox on start up, there are no bookmarks. I then have to import the bookmarks from the bookmarkbackups folder. I read on the net that I should replace the current bookmarks.html file with one of the backup bookmarks files. However, I cant rename anything bookmarks.html due to it bein corrupt. This results in me not being able to save any new bookmarks and means I have to import them every time.

Does anyone have a solution ?

Stewart, I had this problem with Firefox after a recent update.

When I clicked on the bookmark icon I had a load of code pop up on the left, but when I opened them from the top list (File, Edit, View, History Bookmarks, Tools, Help) they were still there.

I ended up doing a re install on Firefox and they've worked great since then.

Its not exactly your problem (I don't think), but thats what worked for me.
